Description

******* Note this Sniffspot App was created in the USA so the funds charged to your credit card will be in US dollars. I’m very sorry if that’s an inconvenience for you. Please feel free to google the exchange rate of US funds to Canadian to gauge approximately how much you’ll be paying for your visit. As well as PICK UP YOUR DOGS POOP, and if you happen to see one not picked up, please pick it up as you might not have noticed that yours might have did it. Thanks so much for understanding!******************** Come enjoy our 40 acre nature walk with your family and best furiends 🐕. It’s approximately a 1/2 mile long from the old green shop parking area to the end of the big top pasture. The very large grass pasture at the top of the hill is edged with wild brush (and a very old 4 foot page wire fence) on the outside perimeter (that some dogs will be able to get through). There are 2 smaller pastures at the bottom of the hill before the bush areas as well, and one side has a little bit of a pond/standing water on it. You could also see some wildlife on your walk. We hope you will consider us for your dogs exercise needs, and are looking forward to having you explore our private ranch pasture. 🐾 🐾

Hazards

This is a 40 acre nature, natural country SniffSpot walk with possibly wildlife and uneven ground. The big pasture was a grazing grass field for livestock for many years so the ground can be very uneven. Please be careful and mindful of where your walking because of the rough ground. There is bush, a hill, and a bit of old barbed wire in a couple of spots on the outside bush areas. You could also encounter various different kinds of wildlife on your walk. There are a few horses to the south on the bottom part and a dog sometimes is occasionally heard in the distance. The grass can be very long at times and has low spots with sitting water, and can be damp so you might get wet shoes, rain or hiking boots, would be helpful. As well as there are mosquitos in the summer so bug protection is required. There’s some thistle patches in the long grass that we have been working on for years to get rid of. There may be Mole mounds and tunnels. Which some dogs have fun digging at, but be cautious of where you walk. In the winter there is snow, so tall snow boots or snow shoes would be handy. Please be safe!

Additional rules

I have a bad hand drawn map now in the pictures to give you an idea of the land you can explore. The bottom two pastures before the bush and top pasture in the green area are safe to explore. The blue area by the shop is where you can park. And the red areas by the house and trailers are off limits. The Sniffspot starts at the green old shed and at the second gate is where the 2 bottom pastures are. There’s also an areal photo of the part by the house....Where the blue lines are is where the parking is by the green shed. The black line is the horseshoe driveway and the way up the hill to the top 20 acre pasture. And inside the red line is the house, garage, and trailer areas where we may possibly be visible and is off limits to guests. I also have a couple of small signs up so you can just come in, park by the old shed and start your walk. And please pick up poo and if you see one that yours didn’t do please pick it up too as a courtesy. As sometimes it is easy to not see your dog actually poop in a large area and you might have missed one of yours once. Thanks for keeping it clean!!!

Lots of space for the dogs to run. A clean and beautiful space for a nature walk!

It was wonderful! Went with my friend and our dogs, we walked and chatted while they played, and we brought a picnic lunch to share. The on site chairs are lovely! It was a gorgeous way to spend the afternoon. We went for three hours as we have very high energy breeds, and it was perfect! Her and I both went home with tired and satisfied boys.

really nice area with lots of room for the dogs to run. I suspect that a visitor prior to me had not picked up after their dog in the big pasture. My dog's ball landed in some poop. there were some coyotes out on our visit but I leashed the dogs and they left. i will be back

Host replied: I’m so very sorry your ball landed in the poop!!!! Guest please pick up your own poop, as it’s a hard rule of Sniffspot that everyone pick up their own. And that’s is the way a normal coyote would react when they see us, they want to go away and hide and not be seen. Unless it’s an urban coyote that is conditioned to people, those are the bad ones. I’ve been here almost 30 years and have only seen them a handful of times but I’ve heard them howl at night lots. Once again I’m sorry you had a bad experience today.

This was everything we hoped it would be. Toby doesn’t do well at public dog parks but he was in heaven at Old Yeller’s. This will be our regular spot!

This sniffspot was wonderful! I have a senior golden who definitely goes at his own pace and he loved taking in the all the smells and roaming around. We will absolutely be back again!

First time using sniffspot and loved it. Easy directions and was a great place for my dog to run free without worrying about other dogs. 100% will be back.
