Description

Hi! I’m Joanne, and this is my dog Nifty’s favorite place in the world—so I thought I’d share it. We have 15 private acres with woods, open fields, and river access, and it’s been such a gift for my dog to have a safe space to run freely. I know not every dog thrives at dog parks, so I wanted to create a peaceful alternative. This space is especially loved by dogs who need a little extra room or prefer a quieter environment. Near the cabin, there’s a cozy seating area where you can relax under the trees while your dog enjoys the space. We’re so happy to share this space with you and your pup! It’s meant to feel simple, calm, and restorative—for both of you.

The river can be quiet and lazy, or it can be fast moving with high water levels. The river changes seasonally and with weather patterns. Wild animals, such as deer, fox, skunks, and possum have been seen on the property. While I have not seen bears, they are known to be in the area.

Additional Guidelines for Your Visit I’m frequently on the property and always happy to say hello—feel free to message ahead if you’d like a quick introduction. The open fields and wooded areas offer a peaceful, private setting designed for relaxed, off-leash exploration. Within the barnyard/riding arena, we kindly ask that dogs remain leashed to ensure a calm and safe environment for both your dog and the resident farm animals. While generally gentle, horses & donkeys do not enjoy being chased and may kick quickly (and may cause severe injury) if they feel unsafe. Just beyond the fenced property (adjacent to the cabin ) is town-owned conservation land with a scenic walking trail. You may continue your outing there; however, once off the property, you are no longer within the Sniffspot space and local leash laws apply. To help keep the grounds beautiful for all guests, please clean up after your dog. Waste may be placed in the small trash receptacle by the cabin. If before or after your walk you want to say hello to the farm animals, feel free to do so—with your pup safely tucked in the car…or on leash. No climbing on the fence. No paddock entry. A few carrot or apple pieces are OK. They enjoy calm visitors.
