Description

Consider us "remote" and plan to spend enough time to make your trip worth it! Otto was our first Great Pyrenees Livestock Guardian Dog who patrolled all 100 acres of our now-retired farm. Follow his trails through the woods and fields, up to the ridges, down to the hay bottom, over to the pond and across the ravines. The whole place is for you and your pooches to enjoy like he did for his 12 glorious years. Tested and approved by Otto himself and all the dogs we had before he arrived, while he was here, and after he was with us. (Plus, all our friends' dogs, too!)

You are entering the backwoods of Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. There are several hazards from uneven ground in the fields, to rusty barbed wire in the woods, to venomous snakes in the grass. We know how hard it is to say goodbye to your best friend. If you want a special final resting place for your favorite canine, you and your dog can choose the perfect spot to dig or spread ashes pretty much anywhere in Otto Man's Empire. Hike to find the place that speaks to you, or ask us for suggestions...Look-outs, beautiful quiet corners, or in our own pet cemetery. And, you're always welcome to come back to pay your respects free of charge.

Take advantage of the time it took to get here, and all the space available. Pitch a tent with your pup off the beaten trail or near one of the fire-circles, and sleep under the Milky Way. When the weather isn't ideal, we have indoor glamping options to lay your head, too.

I'm a full-time caregiver for my husband and our two retired Livestock Guardian Dogs. We recently moved just down the road from our farm where we raised chickens, goats, sheep, and gardens for 26 years. Previous owners stewarded the land as a Christmas tree farm. Now, we hope to share our property with others who will enjoy it as much as we still do!
