Location

Description

🌳🌲Welcome to Wynshire Woods! 🌲🌳 We feel so blessed to call this property our home, and would love for others to experience the beautiful nature we get to enjoy each day. Wynshire Woods includes over a mile of trails, fallen trees to sniff, hills to climb, and ravines to explore. Our 49 acre property is nestled in the woods, 1/4 of a mile off of the road with parking near our metal barn at the bottom of our driveway. We have over a mile of beautiful trails through hills and trees, with a short and long trail option. The long trail is about a mile long and takes 40-60 minutes to walk. The short trail is closer to 1/3-1/2 miles and takes around 25 minutes to walk. Take a break at the top of the first hill and relax in the hammock, taking in the peaceful nature around you. This is a great spot to bring a snack or picnic! We hope your dog(s) enjoy all the sights, sounds and smells throughout the woods- we have wild turkey, deer, many small wild animals to see, and and have him/her/them go home tired, satisfied and happy. This is a completely unfenced property. We ask that all dogs are leashed or have a training collar for recall, as wildlife and farm animals are abundant on our property. Dogs MUST be safe with free range chickens and ducks i.e. NOT chase/hurt them. Part of the trail does go past our fenced goat area. We do have 4 dogs who are contained to an invisible fence which does not have access to the trails. As long as your dog does not come into their area, there will be no other dog interactions on our property.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

• Mud after it rains (it’s totally still hikeable!) • Some pricker bushes and burrs along side of one part of the trail (we work to remove this as we can because we don’t enjoy them either lol!) • Hills (nothing super steep- they resemble a decent sledding hill) but if you have trouble walking inclines this might be a struggle

Had such a beautiful time on these trails, it was a hot day when we booked but the shade from the trees helped us keep cool! Such a cool area with lots to take in and see! Be aware of spider webs and all will be fine! Such a beautiful hike around the long loop, I didn’t even think to stop and take pictures as I ran around with my Australian shepherd. We both loved the property and would return again.

This was a great place to get a longer walk in the woods. Thanks for having us!

This is definitely one of my favorite spots. Beautiful and safe property with nice trails. Very private once you get away from the house. Description of the property is very detailed and you should definitely read it before bringing your dog. My pup and I enjoyed our visit today. We even got to watch a beautiful deer prancing through the woods at the end of our walk.

Omg! It was raining but we didn’t care. What an awesome time! A group of deer ran about 100 feet in front of us. Couldn’t of asked for a better recall test. Spoiler alert: He passed. Thank you so much for letting us use your space. We will be back.

Host replied: I’m so glad you had such an amazing experience! And yay for passing the recall test šŸ™ŒšŸ». Can’t wait to have you back.

It was a beautiful day and we had a blast hiking.

We walked our GSP for 1.5 hours and still did not get to all the trails. He ran and ran. The trails were very well marked and communication was great. Wish we lived closer I’d be there frequently.

Beautiful property! Thanks for allowing us to visit! Helpful notes: owners have the trails marked which is super helpful and markers along the way! Also very much appreciate the signs on where to releash the pups.

Host replied: Thank you for your kind words! I’m glad the signs and markings are helpful. Can’t wait to have you back!

Lots of mud and brush but my dog and I had a good time! We did the long and short loop, both were well marked easy to stay on. We will definitely be back!

Host replied: I'm glad you had a good time! We're still working on cleaning up branches and trees from those ice storms! Hope to see you back soon!
