Location

Description

Hello! We have big open yard for doggos to run around in! So much room for zoomies and playing. Fully fenced in. Water is available for thirsty dogs an. Feel free to use the restroom inside if I am home, just knock. We would love to say hi to your furry friends, let us know if that's okay beforehand! Otherwise, we will respect your space :) - Trash cans are on the outside of the garage on the far right side - Plugs on side of garage and under a cover on the deck - Lights available for the deck and on the back of the garage, by request Please try to keep dogs out of the perennial garden by the deck as much as possible, although I understand it’s not plausible at all times. I don’t mind them sniffing in there, just don’t want any dogs running in there if possible Thank you!

Daisy and I enjoyed our visit on this cool and cloudy day. Large yard with lots of ball chasing possibilities. Host very kindly had a bowl of water out for the dog. There were two dogs, possibly wolfhounds, two doors down that barked almost the entire hour. A bit annoying but manageable. We will definitely be back!

My dog had a blast running around this yard! They let me park in their driveway so it was all so easy. We’ll be back!

My dogs enjoyed running and playing in the yard, they had a great time!

This is a great spot for a dog to explore and run. However, by no fault of the home owner, there are three very large, loud dogs two yards away. They barked non-stop for 45 minutes and caused us to leave our spot early because it was upsetting our reactive Husky. While this is a perfect yard, there should definitely be a disclaimer about these other dogs before booking. Otherwise, an excellent area and great host!

Lot of space so dogs can actually run around a little.

  • Talia T., Feb 12, 2023

The space itself is fantastic and has great sniffspots like stacked woodpiles, a fire pit, compost bins, as well as trees and bushes. My only complaint is about the trio of wolfhounds that live three doors down. I feel terrible because it’s out of the property owners hands. The barking from those dogs was loud, aggressive and excessive. They barked non-stop for the first 15 minutes we were there and then off and on again for over 50% of our time there. One of my dogs is reactive to barking and her hackles were up for quite some time (my other dog didn’t care much). I wanted to train recall with my dogs but we weren’t able to. If your dogs aren’t bothered by barking then it’s a 5 star property. It would be a great place to test out your recall under distracting conditions.

Host replied: Thank you for your review, I apologize for those dogs and wish there was something I could do!

Great place!! Huge yard, lots of sniffing areas, very clean, tennis balls and water bowl provided. There are a lot of neighbor dogs but the one next door was very calm and kept to itself. Definitely will be revisiting

I have a German Shorthaired Pointer that is cooped up in my townhouse and he was in his absolute glory running and sniffing and chasing birds thank you Katie!!

Wynshire Woods Dog Trail In Whitmore Lake

SPRING TRAILS! As the snow melts, you'll find some areas of the trail muddy and slippery. Typically there are no major puddles (though after heavy rains it could be possible), but mud boots are recommended! Springtime might not be the best if you have knee or back issues- I'd hate for anyone to slip and injure themselves. I highly recommend bringing towels to wipe your dogs feet off after your walk before heading back home. They're going to have LOTS of fun and if they're like my dogs, they'll have muddy paws! 🌳🌲Welcome to Wynshire Woods! 🌲🌳 We feel so blessed to call this property our home, and would love for others to experience the beautiful nature we get to enjoy each day. Wynshire Woods includes over a mile of trails, fallen trees to sniff, hills to climb, and ravines to explore. Our 49 acre property is nestled in the woods, 1/4 of a mile off of the road with parking near our metal barn at the bottom of our driveway. We have over a mile of beautiful trails through hills and trees, with a short and long trail option. The long trail is about a mile long and takes 40-60 minutes to walk. The short trail is closer to 1/3-1/2 miles and takes around 25 minutes to walk. We hope your dog(s) enjoy all the sights, sounds and smells throughout the woods- we have wild turkey, deer, many small wild animals to see, and and have him/her/them go home tired, satisfied and happy. This is a completely unfenced property. We ask that all dogs are leashed or have a training collar for recall, as wildlife and farm animals are abundant on our property. Dogs MUST be safe with free range chickens and ducks i.e. NOT chase/hurt them. Part of the trail does go past our fenced goat area. We do have 4 dogs who are contained to an invisible fence which does not have access to the trails. As long as your dog does not come into their area, there will be no other dog interactions on our property.
