Jen's 100 Acre Private Dog Park and 3.5 miles of trails in Bath, Ontario.
Daily 7:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. we offer a partially fenced 100 acre property where your dogs can run free. Update for June 1 2026: Late spring is here and it's very pretty right now! We've got grass, a little mud, earth, wheat starting to grow, the trees filling out and gravel trails going on. The mosquitos are not bad yet and the black fly are done. The pond is suitable for dogs to swim in now, the geese are gone with their goslings to wherever mystery place they go. No ducklings this year, and no sign of muskrats or otters right now. The culvert and run off creek is full of water and is suitable for dogs to swim. With spring comes ticks so please take precautions seriously. To assist with tick concerns, we keep 2 large playing fields cut short as well as the main trail. I personally have never picked up ticks in these areas and I walk it almost every day. I do spray my shoes and legs with tick repellent. General year round description: Currently, we have 4 official walking trails (3.5 miles approximately). We also have 2 groomed 1 acre field play areas. In warmer months, the main trail and playing fields are cut short if you wish to avoid longish grass. We will cut the side trails once they are dry enough to allow the tractor to go through with the mower. We keep the main trail plowed all winter, and side trails if the snow isn't too deep or heavy. We also offer 2 wooded walking trails, one short and one long. The woods are only recommended spring and fall due to insects but you are free to use the woods whenever you like, as long as it isn't windy. We have chairs available in the first field for you to relax. We have a Chuckit and balls available, fresh well water, bowls, and a garbage can in the first field also. There is a pond at the bottom of the first field to the right. Be advised that in spring there are geese and ducks that nest there; sometimes muskrats and/or otters at any time of the year - please prevent your dogs from harassing the wildlife. I don't recommend the pond for swimming for humans at all and only for dogs in the spring until late May, but dogs swim in there all summer and fall; it's your choice. In winter, the pond poses a danger. Please don't allow people or dogs to go on to the ice. There will be a warning sign in winter. From there we have a mile long gravel walking trail along fields and woods. It's very straight, and if you stay on the trail, you can't get lost. It is very quiet and peaceful. You can often see deer, wild turkeys, vultures, and lots of other birds, sometimes bald eagles. A walk to the end and back is 2 miles and takes 40 minutes at a moderate pace. Part way back the main trail goes through a shallow marsh. In the spring the frogs singing is quite remarkable! Further along there is a small run-off creek and metal culvert that is suitable for dog swimming when it is filled with water. This is marked with orange pylons so is avoidable if you put your dogs back on a lead as you pass. Just past the culvert, there are 2 fields going East that are planted with winter wheat, corn or soybean (these crops are rotated). We often have groomed trails cut around these (dependant on how wet the ground is) that go along woods and takes about 15 minutes, ending back on the main trail. If you just travel along the main trail you will reach the big hill. There is a tree stand at the bottom of this hill that has a deer trail camera on the stair railing facing up the west side of the hill. Going East at the base of the hill is the entrance to The Shady Trail, a nice short trail going through the cedars. The entrance is marked with orange tape and an arrow. This trail ends at a small field with a deer stand in it, a red arrow marks the way back to the main trail. In and back would take about 10 minutes. Part way up this trail, you can take a side trail into the woods and follow the markers from there. Part way up the big hill, there is an entrance to the wooded trails. This marked trail meanders through the woods for about a mile, exiting at the top of the big hill, which is also marked with orange tape and an arrow. The main trail ends at the top of the big hill where you will see a Stop sign. Be dressed for gravel on the trail, uneven footing on the side trails, and potential water and mud puddles on the property in wet seasons and after rain. During spring and summer, prepare for ticks and insects. Wear hats and appropriate insect repellent. ** The main trail can be icy in spots in winter so wear appropriate boots. The main trail runs North/South so if you want a sunny walk, go at midday. A shaded walk, go after 3 p.m. We have a white garbage can for poop but please use biodegradable dog poop bags if you can. *Please remove your dogs' poop wherever they go!* *No smoking on the property* ***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD, $11 per hour for the first dog, subsequent dogs are $5.50/hour. On your way home, stop at MacKinnon's brewery just down the road for food and drinks; there are non-alcoholic options. They are dog and family friendly; an all around great place to visit!
