55What a wonderful property.
55This was a lovely spot to let the dogs run around and be dogs. The pond and the creek were a big hit. Just bear in mind you'll leave crawling with ticks in the warmer months so plan on bathing your dog after (true for anywhere outside in the woods.)
55My wife and I took our two pups up here on a Saturday morning. David’s instructions were clear and helpful. Our dogs loved being able to run off leash through the trails. We will most definitely be back!
55This was Abbey's first time here and you would think she had been here a hundred times. We both enjoyed the walk along the trails and enjoyed the many great views. With this area being so pet friendly it was nice to have a place for Abbey to run off leash. Thank you to David for hosting on Sniffspot. Abbey will be back.
55Now I know why this is a 5 star spot. Louis and Archie got to run, practice recalls, wade in the creek and explore interesting scents all while I enjoyed a nice hike. We will be visiting often.
55We were up in VA for vacation and looked for a last minute Sniffspot for our 9.5 month old puppy to stretch his legs. Man, what a spot to find! He was able to explore off leash and had an absolute blast in the creek. I’m so sad we aren’t local or else we would be frequent visitors. The only thing I’d caution about is thorns for off leash dogs; nothing the owner can do, we just didn’t let our pup run through any thick brush.
55The sniffspot app sent me to the wrong location, which luckily still belonged to the owner of the sniff spot property. He was very kind and helped me find the correct property, which when I got to was the perfect combination of maintained trails and untouched fields (which if you have a dog who likes to hunt and explore - you know that's great! Huge area to roam, I don't think we even saw 1/3 of it the first hour we went. We will be going back here time and time again, thanks David!
55The paths are all well maintained, the area is super secluded, and the creek is a dream. Dogs and kids had a great time, will def be back.

Description

This spot is 50+ acres of open fields and forest, non-residential, with a mountain stream along the western border, and a 1/4 acre farm pond. There are no pets or livestock on the property, so if your dog likes to run free and fast, this is the place for adventure. There are some trails through the woods, seasonal berry picking, a water hydrant with public water, and shelters with an indoor bathroom if needed. The land also hosts our sawmill and lumber kiln as well as a mechanic shop leased to a friend, but most of the land is open for exploration. There is a gravel/dirt road that loops around the property, but is not recommended for low clearance vehicles. Plenty of parking anywhere along the loop. Squirrels and wild rabbits to chase!
