HONEYBEES 🐝 We are keeping honeybees on the back right corner of our property. The bees are kept inside of a fenced off shelter so that animals (including your doggos) can’t reach the hives directly. That being said if you are nervous about bees or allergic, we would recommend avoiding the back right corner of our property. We have signs warning you when you’re close and pointing you in a different direction. We have not found ticks on our dog even after running through the tall grass but I still recommend that you check your dog afterwards. Our neighbor does have cattle that will occasionally come up to the fence (please do not approach if your dog can be aggressive). There is always the chance of poison oak in the taller grass so humans should be vigilant. Also we have seen the occasional ant hill. Although we have not seen any yet, always be aware of snakes since we are in the country. As mentioned above, the fencing is mostly 5 strand barbed wire cattle fencing. See 7th picture in profile for reference. An escape artist could crawl through some parts of the fence if they really tried - but our dog never has.
