Description

Beautiful isolated 13-acre spot in the country. There is a clear, well-maintained marked trail through the woods to an area with springs, a creek, and a watershed. Moving on down the 1/4 mile driveway past the house is a path down to the Tye River that has a nice-sized riverbank (beach) for romping and water splashing. Swimming dogs can venture onto the rocks to explore the river. Those who want to exercise can hike up/down the stream, climb big rocks, and other obstacles. This highly wooded area has lots to explore “off path” and on path, so you can never experience everything in one visit. This is heaven for dogs and for those who prefer a challenging exploration vs a standard field or yard to explore. The walk to the creek/springs/watershed is a beautiful, relatively easy walk. The river walk, while there is a trail, is pretty steep and rocky, and it's a good workout to get back up. Join us at Bear’s Creek for an adventure your dog will thank you for! Rules for the river: Low tide, all are welcome. High tide, swimmers only, or dogs with excellent recall. Raging River, closed to all. If you're most interested in the river and you know we have had a lot of rain, you can message me prior to booking for river status. If you don’t message me and the river is closed, you will receive a notification.

NOTICE: Do not use the GPS link sent in your confirmation email! 99.9% of the time that will NOT work and you will end up getting list. Open your GPS app (preferable Google maps) and set your gps with the “address provided” before leaving home. Do not put Bears Creek in your gps search bar as there are multiple locations using the same name. It’s important to set your gps prior to leaving home as you will loose service multiple times on your way, Google Maos hold that place mark by using satellites. At booking, guests will be provided instructions on walking routes if they prefer not to meet the host. The woods trail is clear and marked for easy navigation. If you choose a tour on your first visit, please request it a day before booking. Tour times are limited. The river has three rules. 1. Low tide: all are welcome. 2. High tide: strong swimmers or dogs with excellent recall. 3. Raging river: closed to all guests. Don’t fret! If the river is closed, the opposite side of the property has a stream, a watershed, small springs, and woods to romp in. Booking availability may change throughout the day due to variables for example we are mowing. Established pup parents can try sending me a message if there is no availability as I do not need to be here for your visit. All others we encourage you to check back to see if any available spots have opened.

We bought this house mostly for our dogs because I mean, look at that yard! Our boys love it and now we'd love to share it with you. Our home is tucked right off Fort Ave in a very quiet neighborhood. When you come over, you'll park right in front of the gate to enter into the backyard. The gate will be propped open for you and you'll need to pull it shut when you leave. When you come, our dogs will be in our basement with no access to seeing the backyard, as to not to trigger ours or yours, but you may be able to hear some barking occasionally. Further, we have lots of squirrels in our yard and the occasional cat that hangs out in our driveway. There are two chairs outside, a hammock, kids toys, and dog toys. There will always be access to water for your pup and we'll provide bags and treats. We will be around, but will not interfere with your visit - we know some pups just need their space and privacy and we will honor that. Please let us know if you have any questions!
