Lake Samish dogs dream

DEEP SNOW HERE! AT LEAST A FOOT OUT BY THE GATE. WOULD SUGGEST WAIT UNTIL WE GET SOME WARMER WEATHER AND RAIN. WEATHER ALERT: If you are checking the weather online check the Ferndale (98248) weather. The Bellingham weather stops at the Smith Road. My prevailing wind is from the South BUT I do get the cold NE wind from Canada. NOTE: I have a new young dog who is still learning about socialization and is a bit on the vocal side. I apologize if this is a problem for your dogs. I will try to keep her under control. This is an acreage area which formerly held dog events; barn hunt, earth dog, carting, rally, obedience, tracking and nose work. The off leash area was set up for the dogs to have a place to run and play safely away from the other dogs when not working. This is all sandy loam so no standing water even when it rains. There is a water faucet down by the smaller barn (west side). You are welcome to fill your dogs bowls. Just be sure you turn the water off after. I have put some folding chairs just inside the big door of the barn. You are welcome to use them. I have also put a shovel out there so you can fill in any holes your dog digs. It is important you put balls back in the crate, they do not do well under the mower (the mower doesn't like it either. Please fill in any large holes your dog digs, so my mower doesn't bog down in one. The garden is done for this year so if you want a bit more room to run your dogs, you may close the 2 big gates and let your dog run in the "parking area". It is all fully fenced. Be aware, the big gate into the back pasture does have a gap under it. THE BACK PASTURE IS OFF LIMITS THERE IS LIVESTOCK BACK THERE! PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG EVEN IN THE BIG AREA. THANK YOU!!!

We are located in the Roosevelt neighborhood of Bellingham. Our "back 40" is a mostly maintained lawn with several trees for shade and a covered back porch for resting. Two sides of the "back forty" are bordered with a 6 foot cedar privacy fence. The far back of the yard borders a city watershed with a 6 foot chain link fence. Deer can often be spotted on the watershed but will leave the area once you and your fur baby arrive. Please consider posting a picture of you and your dog playing on our back forty. :)

We have a fairly large fenced back yard available. I'm unsure of the size. Fence is approx 5 feet high. Exceptions are a small fence along our patio and a pile of dirt in one corner (see pictures). Our yard backs onto Sumas highway so there is almost constant traffic noise. There is a gate at the right side of the house to access the yard. You will need to go up a set of stairs. ***Charges will be in USD***

We have a number of wide moss covered walking trails through the woods. The property is fully fenced but it is not dog proof fencing but there is a natural wide buffer between trails and fencing in most spots. We have dogs on the property but they do not go venturing into the woods unless we are with them.

3 plus acres of open field mostly flat and then slopping down a gradual grade. Trees surround the pasture giving a secluded area away from roads or sight of other properties. This is country living with all the country smells to sniff. Lots of room to run and play. Room for multiple dogs and families to enjoy their pets, yet private with no other dogs here when you are enjoying time with your pet. Have a great time. New: afternoon sunshade wall, will add extra chairs, and a large 100 gallon water tub for your dogs to cool or play. Long and short grass for your dog to romp. Plenty of critters for your dogs to chase. Mole, voles, gophers. You might see an occasional deer. Enjoy the open, quiet atmosphere. Reminder:: there is a blue mailbox next to the gate by the fenced area. There are some supplies in there, like poop bags, hand sanitizer and other. The wind blows so bad it unrolls the little bags when I have them out. I will get another lid for the waste container.

This fully fenced acre has an aspen grove, giant cedar trees, sections of unmowed and short grass with mowed paths, a kiddie pool for cooling off in the warmer months, and lots of room to run and explore. There are sunny and shady spots, even ways to stay out of the rain under the cedar trees. Listen to the birds, the wind in the leaves, and the frogs croaking in the distance. Sit in our reclining lounge chair by the hummingbird feeder, warm your face in the sun, and watch the bees wobble through the flower gardens. We also have disc golf for human entertainment and a community library at the entrance that you're welcome to peruse before or after your visit. There are a few small muddy areas in the winter months. You're always welcome to use the hose for a quick rinse before the car ride home. We usually don't greet guests, except maybe at the end of your first or second visit, unless you request otherwise, so that your dogs don't have to meet a stranger during their play.
