Great spot, nice and clean. The horses were unfazed by my crazy pups.

What a great yard! Lots of shade and very clean. HipHop had a great time chasing the bunnies. The horses are beautiful and chill.

Host replied: Thank you! We look forward to having you come back soon.

My dogs had so much fun. On a mission to desensitize my reactive dogs to new situations and other domestic animals, so this was a great experience for them to “meet” horses from a distance. Water bowl, toys, poop bags, sunscreen, and bug spray are provided; must bring your own water! We will be back, thanks!

Host replied: I'm glad you all enjoyed your stay! If you need water in the future, there is a hose I lay across the yard there (the end is usually near the horse water) and the spigot is under the deck. That's what everyone uses to fill the bowl for their dogs 😊

Lovely, shady, with lots of places to sniff. Seating, toys and bug spray provided. Bring water. Excellent fencing. Definitely on our regular visit list.

Host replied: Thanks Mary! We are glad you enjoyed your time and look forward to you coming back. There is a hose, dog bowl, and spigot for water for the pups if you ever need it!

  • Bella S., Jul 25, 2023

Our girls loved it! Lots of room plus tolerable horses helped with desensitization! Definitely recommend:)

Host replied: We're so glad you all enjoyed it and we hope you come back again soon!

The space was lovely and we appreciated the little touches like sunscreen and bug spray, some pup toys, and a spot to sit.

Very clean and well set up with toys and water for the doggos and sunscreen and mosquito spray for the humans. Great space for running and lots of shade. We’ll be going back again soon!

Jason's 20-Acre Private Dog Park In Berthoud

8/1/2023 Update: The park is dry, the grass is mowed, and everything is green. Perfect conditions for dogs to play. I have twenty (20) acres of semi-fenced field miles away from any highway. This is a very private and secure location to run your dogs. All dogs of all breeds are welcome. We harvest hay in the summer (sometimes), so there is typically some level of grass in the field. We have removed all rocks and debris from the field, so the dog park is perfectly safe for dogs. The west side of the field is bounded by bluffs, the south boundary is unfenced, a short stretch of the southeast boundary is fenced, the east boundary is unfenced, and the north boundary has a horse fence. Your dog is free to run off leash in the field without risk of running into other dogs. There are deer and elk in the area sometimes, but they wander off if there are visitors in the park. You can park your vehicle on the south side of the barn and walk down to the field between the two bluffs or walk down the driveway (please see pictures for a map). Please keep your dog on a leash until you get to the field. On the north side of the property is a shed you can use for shelter; there are chairs, hand sanitizer, doggie bags, a trashcan for disposing of waste, and a water faucet and bucket you can use to provide drinking water for your dog. There is also a garden hose and spray nozzle if you would like to rinse off your dog or play in the water. Please make sure you shut the faucet off completely or else you will drain our cistern. Sometimes (very rarely) our neighbor walks her chihuahua down the road (it's her road too), and she keeps her dog on a leash. Her dog is shy, so please do not let your dog run up to her...it's a 20-acre field so you should have no issues maintaining your distance. Also, please drive only 20 MPH down the driveway. Neighbors don't like speeders, they take it very seriously. Having said that, the neighbors are also very friendly and likely to say "Hi" if they meet you. There is good cell service out here, so if you run into issues, please call me. Thanks, and looking forward to having you!
