55Yet another great visit with my dogs, extremely relaxing an now even better with all the luxuries from the great cabin an the kurig for cup of coffee early in the morning to sit by the creek an let my dogs enjoy what we call the doggie Disneyland. So thankful for dawn an her husband for setting this slice of heaven aside for all of us dog lovers. So good it has me considering doing the same if I end up with some property after I move out of state knowing how much joy this brings.

55It was the perfect morning at Glencairn for both Huey and me! A little hike, with a fresh cup of coffee, and some time to relax on the cabin porch, enjoying the sound of the creek. And for Huey: lots of sniffing, exploring through the greenery, playing fetch, and of course a few treats.
55Very helpful and accommodating hosts. One of my three dogs is blind and adventurous. I felt very safe on the property with her. They spent most of the time in the creek and had a blast. Thank you!

Description

Drive in and close the gate behind you for complete privacy and safety when loading and unloading. Locked gate, but not fenced. Bordered by public land. Perennial creek that is shallow and not dangerous, but springfed and very cold...small dog owners be aware. Water dogs love it! LOTS of wildlife passes through here (including bears, cougars, bald eagles). Really fun for sniffing, splashing, and running. Steep canyon walls, so be sure your dog has recall. Boots or sturdy shoes recommended.

Small dogs beware of swift cold creek and bald eagles, cougars, coyotes. There is uneven ground and roots, boots or sturdy sneakers are recommended. Snakes have been sighted, but always the good kind. We have rescued and fostered dogs and cats for decades. Reactive dogs are difficult to adopt out and having more safe locations for them to exercise would really help! Our land is actually 8 acres, with 2 acres usable along the creek, resulting in a huge buffer zone and bordered with public land. Our primary goal for Glencairn is to share it!
