Hazards

HOST NOTE

This is a natural yard space, so please supervise your dog at all times. Vegetation: Yard includes typical grass and natural plant growth, including a bamboo area along the fence line. Ground variation: Uneven terrain and a small area of exposed dirt/old fire pit ash. Patio area: Brick patio may have stored items (wood and miscellaneous materials). Fencing visibility: Chain-link fence allows visibility to neighboring properties where animals may occasionally be seen or heard. Animals: there could potentially be groundhogs in the yard. Unfortunately they are out of our control. They can usually be run off out of the yard but have gotten trapped on the patio previously. We recommend supervision for dogs that: Tend to chew or eat plants/objects Are sensitive to new environments May try to dig or explore edges There are two short metal screws sticking out of the patio on both sides and could be a potential tripping hazard for people. They are marked by tape.

Jay's 22 Acre Unfenced Private Dog Park In Salem

Unfenced

21 acres

Nearly 22 private wooded acres. Spacious, natural off-leash space on a quiet rural property in the Roanoke Valley. Expect natural terrain with some natural trails and some beautiful vistas—perfect for sniffing, exploring, and wandering at your dog’s own pace. The land is not fenced, so this spot works best for dogs with solid recall or for handlers who are comfortable supervising off-leash. The terrain is rolling and varied with moderate elevation changes. Elevation at the property is around 1,244 feet. Mature trees offer shade and a strong sense of privacy and seclusion away from busy public parks. Important: We have one resident dog who free-roams the property. Please message us in advance if your dog needs a completely dog-free visit or has specific needs around other dogs. Ideal for confident explorers, reactive or sensitive dogs who prefer solitude, seniors who enjoy a slower pace, or anyone looking for a peaceful natural alternative to crowded dog parks. Come let your dog stretch their legs and follow their nose across nearly 23 private acres.

Open field for your dog to run. NOTE: CELL SERVICE is unreliable, texting a bit better. GPS is unreliable as well. Before your first visit, you should get an auto-message 2 hours before your reservation with turn by turn directions. Now on to the good info. The primary area is about 1 1/2 acres. I use it for dog sports such as Toss and Fetch (disc). It is ideal for throwing a ball, a disc, or just letting your dog run. There is a shed in this area that has chairs, toys, etc. for guests.
