The owner greeted me upon arrival and showed me where trail entrance was. This is a large property of mostly fields and includes a horse paddock. My dog enjoyed the walk with lots of sniffing and liked seeing the horses.
Overall was a great time. My dog was able to expend his energy and smell around. A little bit pricier than other spaces but still great.
Great space - Barbara Anne is very hospitable.
Amazing place to take the dogs out for a run. Multiple fields to choose from.
Barbara herself was great. She came out and met the dogs and I and walked us into the "trail." This ended up being a random open field. None of it was actually fenced off. The pond is completely dried out. We ran into other people in the field with off leash dogs - the whole point in this for us is to be away from other dogs and the freedom of our own temporary space so this was very disappointing.
Host replied: Paige, my apologies for other dogs on the trail, I would appreciate being able to troubleshoot to avoid this— can you share with me the type of dogs? Yes the “pond” does dry up at the end of the summer I am sorry I neglected to tell you this, also that the hose is there should anyone need to be cleaned off.
Had a wonderful time taking Clara, my 9 month old Chesapeake Retriever and Luke, my 4 year old Miniature Poodle for off leash exercise. This was the first time Clara was allowed to run without a leash, and she had a blast. I plan to take her on a regular basis, as part of her training. I am so excited, as she will be ready to go backcountry ski touring with me in Muskoka, this winter, and mountain biking in the spring.
What a beautiful trail!! We took our 4 dogs for a morning at Barbara Ann’s sniff spot and we loved the amazing views and long trails. The dogs were in their glory jumping on and off the trail into the long grass. We’ll definitely be back!!
Our visit at Barbara’s sniff spot was so much fun! The trail goes throughout two big fields, and right by a pond the dogs can swim in. Just follow path and it loops back to the beginning. Barbara came out to greet us and show us the entrance. Hank and I will definitely be back to enjoy soon!
Hunter and I loved our walk The trail was clear the farm /forest views were beautiful and the pond is a great touch for a hot day! Also liked that we had a meet & great on arrival and the opportunity to hose off at the end of our hike . We’ll come again !!
Barbara Ann’s sniff spot is lovely. John met me to show me the trail, which was about 3.5km and very easy to follow. The trail does not have a lot of tree cover, so it gets warm. Also worth noting that the parking area is shared with a vet clinic; they have poop bags and a garbage can, which is very convenient. On the other hand, if you have a dog-reactive dog you should be aware that there’s a chance you’ll see other animals (you can also see horses from the parking lot). My dogs enjoyed their romp and if this spot was closer to me I’d probably visit regularly.
