Welcome to Jamesburg! Our backyard oasis is perfect for running, sniffing, and playing. Poop bags, toys, water bowls are included. For the humans: we have a table with seats & a cooler - please clean & return items after using! We do have a few cameras set up in our backyard for security reasons. Video is recorded and saved to our cloud. Please note for reactive dogs: our direct neighbors do have dogs, although they are not usually out all day long. Our yard is fully fenced, although other dogs can be seen as fencing is see through. Both dogs directly next door are friendly and may even run up & down the fence if your dog would like. 😊

You and your pup(s) will love this park-like oasis! The half acre fenced area consists of ample grass to run on, a concrete sidewalk / patio (handicapped accessible), mulchbeds of flowers & berries (feel free to grab a handful of berries if they’re in season!) and a giant sandbox / playground area. Tree cover throughout the yard provides shade, even in the hottest summer months. All around you is privacy—to one side, a half acre unfenced stretch of our property, and all around the property is 3.5 acres of private woods and wetlands. Deer, wild turkey, turtles, frogs, & birds of all kinds are just some of the animals you may spot! We provide tables and chairs, water, poop bags & scooper, and several toys. Kids (or kids at heart) will have a blast using the ride-on sand diggers, slides, and swings & coloring with sidewalk chalk. Fertilizer and pesticide: The grass is treated with fertilizer a couple times a year and the bushes are sprayed for ticks/mosquitos and weeds approximately monthly. As we have young kids a dog, all products used are animal & child safe when dry (within 2 hours). Out of an abundance of caution, we will ensure reservations are blocked off for the entirety of the day following any fertilizer, herbicide, or pesticide treatment.

You will be surrounded by a variety of trees, foliage, and flowers (as of July 14th- our Rose of Sharons are in full bloom!) Our spot features full paddock fencing secured by vinyl livestock so you can be confident that your dog will be safe while getting their energy out. As for you, enjoy being in the company of our barn circa 1840, which was featured in a local Western film in the 1970s. We have outdoor furniture for you to take it all in as you immerse yourself in the wonders of Silverton Road’s most charming home! We have a deck box which holds our cushions for you to access in the event I am unable to set them out. If you’re lucky, you may just see some of our neighborhood’s beloved deer or chickens grazing in the field behind our property. When you’re done enjoying our property, be sure to visit Silverton Farms right down the road for fresh organic produce, eggs, honey and flowers. We hope you enjoy our property as much as our dogs Blu and Auggie do! Please note- we are a heavily wooded yard and as such, be sure to check you and your pups for ticks! Also just an update: upon entering our barnyard you will see where a large tree stump has been ground down- we lost our wonderful Black Cherry tree in a recent storm. As of 6/26, we have reseeded that area and surrounded it with plastic fencing, so please don’t mind the progress! One more quick note! Because our sanctuary is so well-loved by our local pups, the grass can experience some "wear and tear" during the peak summer months. While some areas may look a bit sandy or thin due to high traffic, please know we will be reseeding these spots to ensure it returns to its full, lush state. We appreciate your understanding as we keep our yard looking its best for every visitor!
