Description

We would love for you to bring your furry friend for a visit. There are some things you should know up front: 1. The property is not fenced, so if you cannot reliably call back your dog from whatever distraction crosses its path--squirrel, rabbit, bird, deer, possum, raccoon, horse, you name it--you should not come here. 2. There's a fair amount of thorny vegetation around the property, which is not unusual for this area, but not typical for city and suburban dwellings. If that's a deal breaker for you, it is for us, too. If those two things don't put you off, here's what we have: In the pictured labeled "room for zooming," there's a stretch of yard maybe 50 yards long and about 8-10 yards wide. It's shady much of the day. It's separated from the road on one side by about 3 yards of trees and brush. Across from the barn, there's a water pump with a hose attached (for a little longer this season, at least) where you can fill a water bowl or wash off muddy paws. It's shown in the picture labeled Access to Water and Shade. Along the driveway across from the long run is a small garden and play area. Please don't go into the neighbor's yard, which begins on the other side of the flower beds. There's a patch of woods your pup might enjoy exploring between the run at the top of the hill and the house at the bottom. There's also a grassy hill and backyard area below the house that you're free to use. The wood fence marks the property line (but won't stop your dog). It's quiet and lovely here. A few cars go past, and an occasional tractor lumbers through. You might hear the neighbor's horses nicker or the rooster in the distance. The birdsong always brightens my day.
