Location

Description

Poochie Garden is a sensory experience with plenty of shade and room to zoom! Warm-weather water features include a 2×3×1' pup pool for wading and splashing, plus a tiered ceramic fountain, both with solar-powered pumps. Turf includes bare dirt, cypress and cedar mulch, short grass, and large beds of tall ornamental grass as natural snuffle spots, plus a sand digging garden along with varied natural rock, cobblestone, and wooden deck walking surfaces - all securely contained within a 6-foot wooden privacy fence. Treat-tipping bottles, a rocker balance board, agility weaving-pole and jump-hurdle practice walk (for an intro, not for speed), a stump walk, a curated selection toys, and plenty of other sensory experiences add to your pup's best day. Bring kibble or treats to challenge your hound to the mental stimulation of a puzzle or two. Pup-safe plantings of marigolds, spearmint, rosemary, catnip, wheat grass, lavender, thyme, oregano, phlox, and more offer your pooch plenty to explore, sniff, and nibble. Humans can rest in the chairs on the deck or in the garden and enjoy the sounds of water, chimes, and birds while your pooch plays. Poochie Garden is a certified Wildlife Habitat, so you may encounter birds, rabbits, toads, butterflies, spiders, bees, and other friends while you visit. Please enjoy their presence and do no harm. Include a human friend or two and their dogs in your reservation if you'd like to share the garden experience! Message to inquire about membership options if interested in repeat visits! **Please note that I require proof of vaccinations.**

Hazards

Exercise caution when walking on uneven natural rocks, on unleveled ground, through leaves and vines, and in tall grasses. Climbing roses on trellises do have thorns. Pup-safe plantings are marked; do not allow your dog to nibble on unmarked plants.

Extras

Hosting Consultation$20.0

Are you a Sniffspot host or potential host looking for ideas? Bring your human-friendly pup to visit the garden and pick my brain for 30 minutes while you play. All opinions are expressly my own. Please confirm scheduling availability prior to booking.

Play Date with Poochie$10.0

Does your pup need a pal? Poochie is a 28-pound neutered male Pomsky who loves to play. If your dog wants a friend and our schedule can accomodate it, we can add a 30-minute supervised play date to your visit. If unable to accommodate your request, we will let you know ASAP so you can edit your reservation or reschedule to a date and time when Poochie is available. Safety is top priority, so play dates are subject to successful introduction of leashed dogs. Proof of vaccination required.

Self-Serve Bath$20.0

Does your pup need a bath? Let me set up our XL Booster Bath with 3-point tether and provide the shampoo and a towel so you can safely bathe right here in the garden! Booster Bath eliminates issues with home pet bathing: slipping and sliding, chasing the shampoo bottle (and the pet), backaches from bending over, lifting the pet into and out of the tub and messy bathroom cleanups. The problems we used to have with pet bathing are over! *Requires 2-hour advance purchase and temps over 70°.

Looking forward to warmer weather! Courage always enjoys this space!

Host replied: As much as Courage enjoys it, so does Poochie enjoy reading his "sniffmail" after Courage has been here! 🐕 Watch for new plantings along with the warmer weather! 😎

Lovely, thoughtfully designed space, as other reviewers have said. I don’t know what more I can add that others haven’t said. There are all sorts of fun things to do. Little Bailey the Yorkie liked digging in the sand the best. We’ll go back when it’s warmer to try the water activities!

Host replied: We are so glad that you visited and found Poochie Garden to be thoughtfully designed! I love knowing that Bailey enjoyed digging in the sand, and we look forward to your return!

We had such a great time! Gwen is so friendly and you can tell there is a lot of thought and love that is put into her space! Kai had such a great time and he is worn out from all the excitement.

Host replied: I'm so glad you had a great time and that the excitement wore Kai out! We do our absolute best to create an enriching space for our own dog, and it brings us great joy to see other pups benefit from it, too!

There’s lots to do in this location! Balls, flirt poles, a dig pit, and more. My two littles had a great time. The fence was pretty secure for my ten lb runner, but she was able to fit under the deck and explored quite a bit under there. There’s no escape point and she had a good time, but a good recall may be helpful for other littles. We also do our own activity of a treat scatter in the leaves, which was a perfect nature snuffle mat. We’ll be back!

Host replied: I'm so glad you had a good time! My dog and his 50-pound best friend love to explore under the deck, too. Thank so much for bringing your littles to enjoy!

Gwen's space was welcoming for dogs and people, alike: For the pups, there was dog-friendly landscaping and all sorts of toys, treats, and play areas; and for the humans, there were chairs, a hammock, and even a bowl of candy! There was a little area set up to take cute fall-themed photos of your pooch. The yard was beautifully laid out with a bird bath and feeder, raised beds, trellises, and all sorts of herbs tucked here and there. Our time there was a lovely break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Ahhhhh.

Host replied: I am so glad that you found Poochie Garden to be welcoming, and I appreciate your thoughtful review of your time here. Thanks for sharing all that you enjoyed!

Gwen was such a kind host and my dog, Luke, had such a great time exploring!

Host replied: It was an honor to host Luke, and to know that he had fun brings me joy!

We will most definitely be back!!! Excellent host and Zoey especially loved smelling the lavender and listening to the wind chimes. Mom loved the fancy dog bath!! 🐶

Host replied: We are so glad Zoey loved the lavender and wind chimes! 💜 This dog mom loves the ease of Booster Bath, too, and it's such a beautiful day for one that I think we'll follow suit!

A very nice yard to bring your dog to. My dog, Neve, loves sniffing through the tall grass and digging in the sand area.

Host replied: I'm so glad Neve loves the tall grass and the sand! Both areas of the garden provide such good enrichment for dogs, and enrichment is wonderful for their minds and bodies!

My dog and I loved visiting this sniff spot so much! We will be back again! We had tons of laughs, the dogs played and played. We all had such a blast!!! 10 stars!

Host replied: We are so happy you visited and had such a great time! Can't wait to host you again because happy dogs truly are the best dogs! 🐕

Very relaxing with lots of areas to stimulate the pups! Hostess was very friendly & responsive. The pups LOVED their pupsicles 😍 We enjoyed the beautiful flowers & bird watching. Thanks for a fun outing 💕🐾💕

Host replied: We are so happy to create a space that provides both stimulation and relaxation for pups and their human companions! Thank you for appreciating it!

Meet your host

From hamsters to horses to huskies and more, my life story wouldn't be complete without mention of the fur babies I've loved! I am an Air Force veteran and former teacher who works at home. My husband and I spoil our rescue Pomsky. We built him a back yard of his doggy dreams, and we can't wait to share it with you and your pooch!
