55Excellent space! Our pup was certainly interested in the chickens, but got over that pretty easily. They don't make much noise. There was so much lush grass to romp around in! By the end of the hour, our pup was feeling right at home (aka barking around the yard like it was his)! We'd love to come back again.
55The dogs had an absolute blast it’s the perfect size for them to run around they LOVED playing in the water
55Loved the Sniffspot. The yard was huge! Lots of running room for my cattle dog & there was a grassy area that was kinda puddle-y and wet and she loved running through that playing fetch. Shadow loved it & I did too.
55My dog Cleo had a great time here! We definitely recommend this spot and will be coming back in the future :)
55Everything was as advertised and very nice. We had a wonderful time. Communication was excellent. Easy fun!
55This is a gigantic yard, and there are so many things to socialize a puppy to — wet ground, dry ground covered with pinecones, playground equipment, dogs next door, kids next door, chickens… It also was a great combo of shaded and sunny and the host had all the things we needed — tennis balls, poop bags, towels.
55Amazing space, my dogs snored the whole way home.
55Amazing host, great space to take your dog!
55Great spot! Host was super communicative and my pup had a great time running around the huge yard.
55So much to sniff! Bit of “Lake Kefy” was still there (owner told us) and of course dogs thought it was wonderful!! Owner thoughtfully left out huge beach towel to dry the dogs along with toys and poop bags. It is a great location :)

Description

We are a dog loving home located on a large lot right off the Illinois Prairie Path in Lombard! Perfect spot for owners who already walk their companions on the path to stop and have some playtime or extra training time. (We just ask you make reservations before planning your visit) Join our Facebook Group ‘Kefy Dog Park’ to find Yard Updates & how other friends are enjoying our spot! https://www.facebook.com/share/ix7uGd3kp5R6DqxA/?mibextid=K35XfP We have a Newfoundland and Yorkie who will be inside during visits unless otherwise communicated & chickens who will be in their coop/chicken run. Our favorite times of year to see our Newfie play outside are winter (he loves to catch snowballs, chase our kids and then lay in the cold snow)…and the summer when he lays in the cool grass and plops himself down in the kiddie pool. We hope your doggies will love to enjoy our yard just as much!

Great spot! Host was super communicative and my pup had a great time running around the huge yard.

Host replied: Oh boy he looks like he had a great time! Probably not as fun for you to clean him up though 😆 Thank you for being our 2nd guest, we hope you’ll visit again!

Grass and rain: Please keep in mind that during moderate to heavy rains the area without mulch can get muddy. Beginning May of 2024, we will post pictures daily to our Instagram account showing the condition of the spot. As you can imagine, due to the wear and tear the spot gets, it’s difficult to keep the grass alive. However, we do our best to reseed during the spring. BarkPark sits right across the street from The Salvation Army Freedom Center. This spot is fully fenced (chain link and wood) with the side facing the sidewalk being 5ft and the rest of the fence being 6ft. There is a dual-gate entrance to the spot for a safe entry and exit. Street parking is available. There is plenty of seating at this spot with shade throughout the day. There's a rain barrel filled with water for dogs to hydrate and cool down. We have water bowls available. GIANT sandbox that's great for digging and playing; no digging elsewhere please. On hot days, we do our best to keep the sand wet. Trash can onsite. We have poop bags available in two different areas for easy access. Half of this spot is covered with grass and the other half with playground mulch. This spot is big enough to get a good fetch session in or to just let the zoomies out. We also recently added agility equipment. We hope you and your four-legged friend/s have an exceptional time during your visit and choose to come back. Lost toys and items: Due to the amount of visits we get we aren’t able to track which items belong to which guest. If you’ve lost a dog toy or other item, please reach out and we’ll do our best to retrieve it and hold it for you. If you don’t reach out, we’ll hold onto it for a week and then add it to the Lost and Found Toy Box. Water: The dog drinking water gets changed 1-2 times per week, depending on the temperature/usage. During the winter months we empty the water barrel. If your dog/s require water during the winter months, we ask that you please bring your own. Food: You’re welcomed to bring food but we ask that you please clean up as a courtesy to other guests. Future additions: We hope to add more amenities over time. Our plans are to add more sand to the sandbox in late April or early May of 2024. We’re also hoping to have on-site parking around mid summer of 2024. If you have any suggestions for amenities, we’d love to hear your feedback.

**We have added OPEN reservations from 8:30am to 5:30pm weekdays for people that would like to visit the yard prior to deciding if they would like to become full access Members.** We LOVE sharing our space with multiple dogs from the community however, it is hard on the grass. For this reason, we have limited our evening & weekend availability to Members Only to decrease the wear and tear on the yard. With the fluctuation in weather please be aware: If outdoor parks are wet and muddy ~ areas of our yard will be also. We cannot control the effects of rain. Please always use the provided carabiner to lock the gate as pictured after you and your dog(s) enter. We have installed multiple methods of LIGHTING for evening reservations. Easy instructions for use will be sent when you make the reservation. We do have a SHADE/RAIN SHELTER! :) WATER: We provide fresh water every 24hrs located in(or next to) the CORONA Cooler. PARKING: One FREE private parking space located at the entrance from the alley at the back of the lot. Since some guests were having a tough time with the parking space, we did finally WIDEN the entrance. We park 2 Honda CRV's back there daily without issue. Fully fenced 6 foot secure and private green space. Large open lot with seating and plenty of room to play fetch or just relax off leash. Easy street parking, no permit required. Any Extras will be located in the storage bin on the east wall of the lot. We have evening hours 6:00p to 9:30p for Members Only, 7 days per week.
