Description

Welcome to Nessel & Luna’s Private Farm Dog Park (5 acres) in south Maplewood. This is a calm, spacious property where dogs can sniff, explore, roam, and enjoy the sights and smells of nature away from busy streets and crowded public parks. The main play area includes a large fenced section, approx. 60 ft x 100 ft, with room for dogs to run, play fetch, wander, and decompress. The property also has open land, trees, wildlife scents, and a peaceful farm-like setting near I-94 and McKnight. This spot is great for dogs who need private space, dogs who do better away from public dog parks, dogs building confidence, or owners who simply want a quiet place to let their dog be a dog. Resident dogs will be kept separate during visits. Please keep dogs supervised, clean up after your dog, and close all gates behind you. Unfenced areas should be used on leash unless otherwise discussed.

Additional rules

Dogs are welcome to be off-leash inside the main fenced play area. The rest of the property is not fully fenced, so long leashes are ideal for letting dogs roam, sniff, and explore while still staying within a safe recall distance. You know your dog best, so please use your judgment and keep them close enough to remain safe and under control. Guests are responsible for supervising and controlling their dogs at all times. Dogs may not be left unattended anywhere on the property. For groups over 5 dogs, dogs should be from the same household, already familiar with each other, or managed by an experienced handler. Please check the gate before releasing dogs, and close/latch all gates behind you. Please clean up after your dogs before leaving. For larger groups, please do a final walk-through of the area before checkout. No digging, excessive barking, fence fighting, fence jumping, chasing wildlife, or destructive behavior. If your dog is digging, damaging fencing, or repeatedly trying to escape, please leash your dog and end the visit if needed. Do not enter the house, barn, workshop, sheds, driveway work areas, equipment areas, lumber piles, trailers, vehicles, or any area marked private/off-limits. Children must be closely supervised at all times. This is a natural farm-style property with uneven ground and normal outdoor hazards. This is a wooded property with tall grass, trees, brush, and natural wildlife areas. Please make sure your dog is up to date on flea and tick prevention before visiting. Resident dogs will be kept separate during visits. Please do not approach, interact with, or attempt to introduce your dog to resident dogs unless arranged in advance. Wildlife may be present or scented on the property, including deer, rabbits, squirrels, birds, and other animals. Please supervise dogs closely, especially dogs with high prey drive. For larger groups, please keep noise and barking under control out of respect for neighbors. By booking, guests agree that they are responsible for their own safety, their dogs’ safety, their dogs’ behavior, and any damage caused by their dogs during the visit.

I live and work on a 5-acre property in south Maplewood that has been in my family for almost 4 decades. The land is still underdeveloped, wooded, and peaceful -- a private nature oasis in the middle of the suburbs. In the summertime, the property is surrounded by lush trees, and you really do not see any neighbors. The main fenced play area is 100 ft x 60 ft. The entire property is not fully fenced, but it is set far back and fairly distant from neighbors. If your dog has reliable recall and you are comfortable with them off-leash outside the fenced area, use your best judgment -- you know your dog best. This land is full of natural smells and wildlife activity. We regularly see deer, rabbits, possums, moles, raccoons, many bird species, and other critters, including a family of about 10 deers recently walked past my bedroom. I also do tree work, so there are logs, branches, and sticks around the property, which many dogs love to explore for hidden smells. I also board dogs through Rover (look me up), so the property has lots of dog smells, much like a private dog park. Guests may park anywhere on the grass field unless otherwise marked. Since I’m just starting this Sniffspot, my pricing is intentionally lower while I build my first reviews.
