55Clean, easy to access, and lots of room to run! Our puppy enjoyed exploring! Also loved the beautiful fruit trees! Our puppy probably found the one part of the fence that had a gap big enough for her to squeeze though, so owners who have smaller dogs/puppies who like to try to escape should keep an eye out. We are planning to return again sometime!
55Very fun with lots of running room. Will come back!
55Sandra is so welcoming and our pup loves frolicking in her lovely yard! This is a family favorite for us!
55Great, we’ll kept (and stocked backyard)!!
55Beautiful spot, my dog was being a baby so we left early!
55A beautiful, clean yard with lots to sniff and comfortable seats to relax!
55Nice and clean spot! Water was provided. We could only stay for half the time but our husky was happy and tired.
55We love this spot! Every time we come, the host has added another delightful touch. A beautiful, shady summer Spot!
55Super clean and great space!
55Great yard with plenty of space for my lab to run and tire herself out. Host provided tennis balls, poop bags, and a huge water bowl.

Description

I have a nice deck with a big water bowl. You can toss a ball & play fetch or just run around for some exercise, lots to sniff. Then head to Lincoln Park for a nice long leashed walk or hike into Solstice Park behind the tennis courts on block past my street on the next block heading south. In August my plum tress and apple tree will produce fruit. If you see fruit out please take some. I will try to leave out bags or you can bring a container or bag if you would like to take some fruit home. Please, please pick up after your dog when playing. I have provided poop bags and a trash can. Thank you in advance for being respective of my space.

Host replied: Hi Kristen. Hoping your pup was ok trying to squeeze through the fence. I mention in my description so that people with smaller, thin dogs are aware.

Hello. I am a dog owner and a caregiver to my 89 yr old Mom. Jax is a 12-14 yr old rescue black lab mix. I have lived in West Seattle since 2002. Love the community and also am a dog walker part time so I am outside walking these streets daily. This is a great location to access Lincoln Park and Soltise Park.

A world-class Pacific Northwest natural rainforest adventure awaits you and your best friends on 66-year-old trails, through 2 acres of trails, forest, tall old growth trees, a creek, and open areas for ball throwing and chasing sticks on 9 terraces. Starting with your choice of 2 entrance paths on the far left and right over a bluff that winds around to The Landing Pad, through other trails forming circles to run around on and play. ('Yes, there are 2 paths you can go by'). At the very bottom, our Madhatter trail leads to a creek. The property is partially fenced and has natural barriers. It is bounded by a fence at the top, a fence on one L-shaped side, a cliff, and creek on the other. Bring more than one dog, if at all possible, because they LOVE to play 'Hide and Go Seek', and chase each other around in circles on the switchback trails, down the hill to the creek and back up the hill to the lodge. This tranquil forest was mostly clear-cut between 66 to 100 years ago then not replanted. So we replanted our 2-acre forest with 600+ trees. The ground is wood chips, sand, Pacific Northwest duff, with 160ft tall Hemlock, Douglas Fir, Alder, Big Leaf Maple trees, 1 Madrona, ferns, and native bushes with views of a 20-acre privately owned forested wetland. We prepared the yard as a Sniffspot for dogs. Rarely seen are animals in the forest - occasional wild rabbits, moles, squirrels, mountain beavers, raccoons, mice, shrews, voles, and weasels. Many birds are seen and heard here- thrush, grosbeaks, warblers, sparrows, starlings, chickadees, flycatchers, redstarts, vireos, tanager, pewees, orioles, woodpeckers - shorebirds, waterfowl, raptors, such as hawks, and American Bald Eagles. This is a rugged forested area so be careful of footing! watch for signs of moles and Mountain beaver underground trails crossing the paths, especially along Secret Lane, Lover's Lane, and Hidden Lane (signs to be added soon). Do wear boots if you plan to access the creek. We spent 4+ years removing invasive bushes, cutting down dead trees, and creating places for you to run, walk, play, pause, sit, and enjoy your dogs in this natural rainforest, one mile from the South Sound. When you park you can close the entry gate at the top. We feel a lot of delight here. We welcome you to enjoy it now! 2 Starbucks are less than 5 minutes away in either direction (bathrooms are available there). Bigfoot Java is at 4627 SW 320th St. (no bathroom but open 24x7) Join us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556216197208 or search "Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot" :-) Wonderlane is a place to commune with nature, a peaceful place to breathe in nature with some walks over and around 2 acres of forested hills. You can't get lost, just keep going up if you are unsure. When it is raining and for water dogs, bring a towel to dry off pups' paws. There is water to wash dogs down near the creek. Actually there are water hydrants in most areas. If your dog is reactive and you want to, you may keep your pup leashed the 20 ft from your vehicle to the top of either trailhead. When leaving via either trail at the top you can easily pause to leash your dog if you wish. PS. If your dog doesn't want to leave, contact me and I'll ring the Magic Chuck Waggin' Triangle, and your dog will come. No worries! Toss garbage away at the top driveway as you exit in the large gray bin marked "Garbage".
