55Amazing fun place for my puppy!
55The site is great for active dogs who need to release their energy. It's on a hillside and it's a wonderful way to play with the dogs. I can see a lot of work has gone into making this a place to remember. People with walking restrictions won't enjoy the hillside as it's steep. Once it's done the watering areas are all along the pathways. We loved the site. Thank you! CR & Pups
55Linda was very kind, responsive, and helpful! Beautiful space that my pup really enjoyed! We even explored the creek some and he had loads of fun! Very secure fencing, particularly if you have a smaller dog like myself!
55Nice place with trails! Our dog liked the steep trail down to the ravine. It wore him out! 😉
55What a cool spot in the middle of the city! Your pups will have an awesome time in the creek. We brought a long line for each—I would suggest shoes with good grip for the walk down and maybe a towel—although our dogs didn’t sit still long enough to be dried off! They had a blast exploring the woods safely off leash. Thanks for an awesome experience—any time we are on that side of the Sound we will stop by!
55Beautiful property and great fencing that goes all the way to the floor! We had SO much fun and will definitely be back! My only note for other anxious parents is Watson’s recall isnt solid so i completely lost track of him for a minute or two, but I am confident that the fencing was secure! The creek was a ton of fun on the long line too!
55One of my top three favorite sniff spots for sure
55This woodsy property was easy to find and access. My nearly 3 yr old Aussie doesn’t get many opportunities to run loose-leash in the woods so she was sooo happy to zip through the trails and explore the grounds. The trails on the property are on the back side of a hill and will require walking down and back up to explore all of the spaces. There are a handful of water bowls/pumps throughout the property. It felt like we were away from the city and in our own little sanctuary.
55Love looking at all the work Linda is doing to make this magical place even better with even more fencing and more trails. My dogs had a blast and they really needed to decompress as it has been a very stressful time and we lost a beloved pack member on Sunday. It was nice to be in the woods on a chilly Fall morning and just relax. It was comforting to myself and my dogs. Linda is also the most fabulous host. A few days earlier I had to cancel our reservation. It was less than the 2 hour cancelation period but Linda refunded my money. She didn’t have to do this and I am so appreciative. If you like to spend time with your pups in a peaceful and woodsy environment, you will LOVE this place!
55What a beautiful, special spot! The amount of love, care, and work put into this property is outstanding. We did laps around the trails and went for a little dip in the creek.

Description

Embark on an enchanting Pacific Northwest rainforest adventure at Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot for Dogs and Their Best Friends - Bring your friends and their dogs too! Unleash your dogs and frolic with your beloved friends in the lush embrace of our hilly Pacific Northwest natural rainforest. Wonderlane beckons you and your best pals to explore 66 years of history across 2 acres of established trails, over 9 terraces, under towering old-growth trees, listening to the gentle murmur of a clear creek, accessible by your choice of 2 gates. Close the black entrance gate behind you before you park. From the parking area choose your path— the left or right trails —and meander down Flying Horse Lane or Waggin' Tail Lane to The Landing Pad, where trails weave into playful circles perfect for a game of ‘Hide and Go Seek’ or a chase! At the forest edge, the Madhatter trail invites you to a serene creek, a secret haven at our fully fenced sanctuary. For environmental reasons, the creek area is not fenced. Our hilly forested land, a tapestry of guardrails, fences, gates, natural barriers, rolling trails, springs and creeks, is a haven for play. These trails, once trodden by horses, have been lovingly reclaimed from invasive brush and dead trees, now fun for paws and feet alike. We’ve nurtured this tranquil forest back to life by planting more than 600 saplings. The canopy of Hemlock, Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, Yew, BigLeaf Maple, and Alder, filled out as soon as there was more light. These trails whisper stories of the past. In the spring, summer, and fall, lush frilly leaves decorate every breeze with greenery in motion. Wonderlane isn’t just a place; it’s an experience—a Sniffspot designed with your dog’s joy in mind. While they dash through wood chips and Pacific Northwest duff, under ferns you’ll enjoy the sight of a 20-acre forested wetland, a living vista of nature. Though some wildlife is a rare sight, the forest is alive with the songs of songbirds - sparrows, finches, thrushes, grosbeaks, and a host of other birds, such as majestic American Bald Eagles are seen here. Walk, run or pause on our soft wide paths and let the forest’s secrets reveal themselves uniquely to you. We’ve spent more than five years crafting this haven, just a mile from the South Sound, for you and your friends to run, walk, sit, and revel in the company of your dog(s). And when the day’s adventures are done, two Starbucks await to refresh you, 3 minutes and 5 minutes away. Join our community on Facebook, by searching for “Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot,” or ask a warm and friendly nearby AI to direct your browser there, and see tales of joy. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556216197208 Wonderlane is more than a walk in the woods—it’s where nature’s heart beats, inviting you to breathe in the peaceful air, one paw print at a time! If your dog ever hesitates to leave, a ring of the Magic Chuck Waggin’ Triangle will bring them running back. Reminder in certain conditions, or if visiting around twilight bring repellent or wear it when you drop into the forest, and if you choose, onto the creek area. There may be bug repellant near the treats containers. By the way, we've never seen deer here. The creek is best for physically fit individuals. If you need assistance or more info, please contact us directly. Keeping Wonderlane pristine is a collective effort, and we value your help in maintaining the beauty of our shared space. Please use the garbage bins at the top driveway entrance for disposal of any waste. Please close the hydrants completely. Press the hydrant water handle into the completely closed position after use. If the water is not pressed completely closed it affects our water system pressure. Please close every gate. Dogs must be leashed going to and coming from the parking area, and may be unleashed when entering the dog park. We rely upon guests to contact us and tell us immediately if they need anything. To be fully fenced please roll shut the main gate after you park. The forest area is fully fenced, some doubled. There are 2 gates that lead to the creek so you can control access. PS if you wonder about the fencing here, some guests want the creek fenced too, which isn't possible due to environmental reasons. Please roll the gate into the open and securely hooked position when you leave, thank you! Enjoy the forest’s magic at Wonderlane. --------------------------------------- Thank you to the many regulars, Sniffpass holders, and new guests who clean up after their dogs so very well! Hazards

In the summer heat, as suggested by a guest, bring bug repellent, or wear it when you drop into the forest, and if you wish, beyond the gates onto the creek area. For safety, we request that children and dogs be accompanied when near or in the creek. Sniffspot requests guests please review these guidelines for visiting spots with water: https://help.sniffspot.com/article/167-how-to-keep-your-dog-safe-around-pools-and-water Reactive dogs should be leashed in the unfenced creek area for safety because with effort it is possible to gain access to neighbor's backyards. Violently aggressive dogs are not permitted here. Boots or shoes with sturdy treads are recommended, as are towels for doggies feeties. Please police poo. If you see anything please text us and we'll collect it. It's a big area and sometimes things slip by the most ardent collector! :-) The garbage bin is located at the entrance. PS - If your dog doesn't want to leave, contact me and I'll ring the Magic Chuck Waggin' Triangle, No worries! PPS The signs before you reach the creek area indicate the creek is not fenced. It is protected by natural bowl shaped features of the landscape, but it is not part of the fully fenced area. If you have questions please feel free to text or call Linda with any and all questions.

I've lived in great places from Coldfoot, Fairbanks, Homer, Sunrise Island, and Anchorage, Alaska to Boudha, Kathmandu, Nepal to Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, and Mazatlan, Mexico. My place now is my favorite location I've ever lived in so I thought I'd share it with you! I'm Linda, and I love creatures, especially doggies! My first word was “whuppie” because I couldn’t pronounce “puppy”! Born in Seattle, raised 4th generation Alaskan, from a long-time West Coast family. We are informal here, more friendly, we believe in giving guests privacy. My first dog I captured in the wild with her mom and 3 siblings, rescued them, got them medical care and food, found them all homes, and brought her to Seattle. This Sniffspot was built in her honor. Our current pup was rescued from abuse and flown to Seattle by a rescue team to live happily ever after.

They really want to come over and play. Surrounding Area: There are two private yards (one with an enclosed, screened chicken run, and one with friendly dogs); deep woods on the South side; and an incredible mountain view, over more meadow, on the West side. Sunsets from here are awe-inspiring! Parking: There is room for two vehicles to park near the gate the Meadow. Please park only on gravel and do not drive on the lawn near the meadow. If there are more than two vehicles in your party, please park up the hill in the gravel near the large, 4-car garage. LIMIT of 4 VEHICLES per reservation, unless organized in advance with us.
