I guess we have always come on or near inclement weather times because today we actually discovered the real trails that go on and on and on! For miles maybe? It was so fun twisting through the gorgeous forest trails past the last campsite. I always wondered if we were missing something! Thank you for a beautiful day!
The dogs love trail running and really enjoyed our time here!
Very nice property. My dogs loved it, we will definitely be back again
First time here, was easy to find. Lots of trails to run around in, dog had a great time.
This was our first time using Sniffspot and this place did not disappoint!! My pup Axel had the best day ever! Could explore for hours! We will definitely be making this a regular stop! So lucky to have this place close to home!
What an amazing place! Our dogs were in heaven and Tracy was friendly and flexible about rescheduling for us. Truly the coolest sniff spot we’ve been to. Our boy Gus swam for the first time here!
This is a huge area with beautiful trails. My dog and I both had a wonderful time!
This was a great spot! My German shepherd had lots of room to stretch his legs. It was a little confusing knowing where to park as it's just a big grassy lawn when you pull up. It was also confusing know where we were and were not allowed to be as some of the trails lead to other camping spots and to a dirt road that had quite a few cars going by on it, which could pose a safety issue since dogs are off leash. Luckily you can hear cars coming down the road so I had time to make sure my dog was secured and no one was pulling into where we were. Overall it's a nice spot with a few short trails with lots of shade and a great grassy area to play fetch.
We got off to a rocky start, but it's a lovely spot, and I'll definitely be back. Next time, I'll know to add 10-15m just getting from the entrance to the last SniffSpot sign! Totally empty, except for one of the owners, clearing a fallen limb. Nice setup with well-appointed campsites/recreation sites. I could see making an afternoon of it with a few other people and dogs.
We consistently have a great experience at this spot. My dog's favorite thing (next to string cheese) is to go on a woodland sniffari, and this place is like heaven to him. It's also pleasant for the humans, too, including plenty of Adirondack chairs for when you want a break from the trails, a covered picnic table, and a portapotty. That last amenity is especially appreciated, since we have a bit of a drive to get to the spot and we always book a couple of hours. This place is definitely worth the drive and the price.
My dog and I loved this piece of secluded woods! This is definitely going to become a regular walk spot for us. Cant wait!!
Such an incredible Sniffspot. You need days to explore it all. My dog had an incredible time! I brought my bike to get a lay of the land and highly recommend that your first time. There’s also a map of the property in the box on the picnic table near the entrance.
Perfect as always. We are obviously repeat visitors and come here as often as we can! I feel bad though because my dog never wants to leave
Fantastic place to bring the dogs! I wish I booked more than an hour. I immediately got a little lost on the trails but my dogs were happy to explore. I'm glad I brought boots and towels for the dogs, and we also went to the lake afterwards to rinse off completely.
Great place to chill with your pups!
Lots of trails and forest.
The place is very clean and well maintained.
I also bought fresh eggs !!!
Definitely going back again!!!
I found the farm easily, and a blue sign thar said sniffspot, but was confused about where we could go. There were campsites and trails marked for bikes, horses, and hiking so I was unsure. Still, the dogs had a wonderful time! Tonks was running down the trails so fast I thought we'd lose her and Willow loved rolling in the grass. A good afternoon.
Amazing property for the pups to run free! Such nice trails and private place to roam.
Pretty location with fun trails to explore. Having a porta potty on prem is a nice plus, since it's a pretty remote location.
Amazing time! So much for our dogs to explore. We will most definitely be back!!!
We’ve been to many Sniff Spots, and this was by far our favorite! So many fun trails to explore, in addition to the huge field by the parking area. Recommend bringing rain boots in the winter!
GREAT SPOT!!! Book as much time as you can :)
This is one of the favorite places we've gone to. Well maintained, clean, peaceful, lots of room to roam.
Very friendly owners. Great property. Lots room for your dog to run. Definitely go again.
Thank you for giving my two boys a safe place, especially my deaf rescue puppy! He had the BEST time!!!
We had so much fun at this spot! Our dog did a ton of exploring and sniffing, and he left tired and happy. Trails are a little muddy in places, as expected this time of year, so just be sure to bring a towel. Our reactive dog had absolutely no problems here and loved every minute of it! Owner is incredibly kind and willing to answer any questions. Can't wait to come back in the future!
we love having so much space for our dogs to explore! they love it!
Absolute heaven for dogs and people. Well marked and maintained trails, lots of variety of environments, some open grassy spaces to run, woodsy trails, lots of wildlife. We spent 2 hours here with our 9 month old Shepherd who is still learning trail manners. Was a great opportunity to train in a relaxed and slightly more controlled real world environment. We drove 2 hours to get her and it was worth it, will be back!
Excellent spot! A lot of trails, some nice grassy areas, and it is private. A deer crossed a trail behind us which our dogs found very exciting! I would recommend booking at least two hours as their place is quite large and it's easy to want to relax and just hang out for a bit.
We love this place so much - it's well worth a drive to spend a couple of hours here with our reactive pup. We keep him on a long lead, since his recall leaves something to be desired, but let him decide the direction and sniff to his heart's content. Today, when we showed up (thankfully after the great PNW heatwave of 2021 had passed), the host had left a pile of firewood (which we didn't burn, but it was a nice touch), a helpful note about the deer (they have attitude this time of year due to protecting their young), and - I don't know if this was on purpose - a very nice stick leaning against the picnic table that my dog promptly carted off and made his own. We also noted they had strung some hammocks between the nearby trees. We came to get some exercise and explore, so we didn't use the hammocks, but what a great option if you were spending, say, an entire afternoon instead of just a couple of hours. I've mentioned the ultra-clean portapotty before - still ultra-clean! You could see they have been doing some work on the trails and that they make a real effort to maintain everything. I hope everyone who visits respects this place, because it is a gem!
What a fun spot! It is like walking through your own private national forest. This was our second visit and we were able to explore even more of the property than before. My dog absolutely loves it here - there is so much land and different “sniffs” to explore. We even ran into a buzzard feeding on a carcass. Truth is I didn’t see the carcass but my dog did as he was several yards ahead of me and scared the buzzard into the trees. Once I went forward a bit I smelled the carcass and decided to turn around and go the other way😊. Overall, we had a great time and easily spent 90 minutes exploring the may trails throughout the woodlands. We also bought eggs and they are delicious - so much better than what you can buy at the grocery store. Highly recommended Sniffspot!
Amazing as always! It was VERY warm today. We usually spend a good 2 hours during the winter, but judging from our experience today, I think an hour is just enough during the summer months :)
This was such a fun spot! Great trails and woodland adventure! Next time we will be sure to book more than just one hour
This was our second time visiting this place, and we loved it even more than the first time. We reserved a bit more time, explored some new trails, brought our own wood to make a fire (though you can buy nice split wood on-site), cooked some lunch, got "lost" in the woods for a bit, and generally had a great afternoon out. Our pup loves exploring nature and sniffing all the smells, while I appreciate the well-maintained trails and the cleanest porta-potty I've ever seen. :) Thanks to the owners for making this magical place available to dogs and the humans who love them. We'll be back again!
this is an awesome place to visit. huge forest to explore and tons of room for dogs to run around. will definitely be visiting again!
We absolutely loved our time at MCF! The dogs had an absolutely wonderful time running in the woods. My husband and I loved the area and can't wait to go back again! IT was so much more than we expected. Thank you so much for sharing your space and your hospitality!!
My dogs had such a great time at Malaney Creek! They loved romping through the woods off leash and actually behaved better than they do in a dog park or on their leashes. I had some difficulty finding the fenced in area, and I don't think I ever actually found it, but I think that was my stupidity bc no one else who reviewed had any issues so the dogs and I ran the trails and played fetch it the wooded areas. I will definitely book again!
What a wonderful place! I felt like I was in a fairy land! Dog had a blast!!
Such a fabulous Sniffspot! We have added this to our list of favorites!! My reactive dog ran, sniffed and explored for our entire two hour booking and still didn’t want to leave. I had a good time hiking with him secure in the knowledge that we wouldn’t be running into any other people or dogs. The property is so large I’m sure we didn’t scratch of the surface of areas to explore. We visited on a warm Spring day but there were still some muddy/swampy areas so I’d recommend wearing boots. Tracy was a really welcoming host too. She met us at the site since it was our first visit and gave us an overview. We also purchased eggs and she had them ready and waiting in a cooler for us. We will definitly be back, hopefully often!!
Fantastic spot! We had so much fun exploring!
Great spot to explore several trails! Quite muddy/marshy in areas, if we come back I’ll definitely bring tall rain boots so we dont have to turn back.
Magical place for pups and humans! We had a wonderful day!
We loved the time we spent at Malaney Creek Farm! It was a gorgeous day and Tracy made it very easy - she allowed us to self-check (excitable pup), we found the farm no problem thanks to her directions, and once we got there, the Sniffspot directional signs led us to *the* spot. The spot itself was lovely - nice, open grassy area, covered picnic table, fire pit, chairs (which I think we forgot to re-stack before we left :( - so sorry, Tracy.) I have to give the host kudos for THE cleanest port-a-potty I've ever seen in my life, which also was very much appreciated. Our dog does not have reliable recall so we used our 30-foot long-lead on the trails, which worked out great and kept him out of trouble. :) He had great fun and so did we - it was so nice to not be on high alert for other dogs who might approach us and set off our leash-reactive pup while enjoying nature. We even found a tennis ball at the spot, which we played with for a bit when we took a break from exploring. We booked two hours, which went by quickly. (One note for future visitors: we heard gunshots several times during our visit. It didn't faze our dog or us, but for people or pets who are sensitive to that, may want to take note. It wasn't in our immediate vicinity, but it was audible.) All in all, we had a great afternoon out and we hope to come back soon!
Dogs had so much fun running around and exploring on the trails. We will definitely come back ... hopefully when it is sunny!
wonderful space to “hike” with my reactive dog!!! You have no idea how much that means to us.
What a great place to be, especially to teach recall on your pups. Worth to explore and spend quality time with. Place is also clean and direction to get there is straightforward.
Our pups had a blast running around exploring the area and sniffing absolutely everything. They love hiking with us but can't be off leash so they were excited to go on a "hike" while having the freedom to explore. We also got some valuable recall practice as well. While there are some neighbors nearby, the area is definitely large enough to feel secluded and the fire pit and chairs/picnic benches were great touches. We didn't actually see anyone else during our time there, but there were some people further away who we could hear doing some target practice. Tracy was very pleasant and sent very clear directions and instructions regarding the area as she was unable to meet us there. We will definitely be back to explore even more and enjoy many more sunny days with the pups. Thanks Tracy!
Great little adventure! Probably a bit more room to explore as the weather improves. Our Great Dane puppy and old lady lab mix had a great time adventuring together in a safe place with a lot to offer! There was sun, snow, trails, fields and even some rolling log bridges! Our old lady was diagnosed with sundowners a few days ago and we are so lucky to give her bright days like this! Thank you.
This was my second time out here. What a great place! I love the fact that there are trails, roads, and a big grassy area to play fetch with the chuck-it. The dogs get a little bit of everything!
Only hesitation in posting a sincere review is the risk of this large paradise being overrun. Ridiculously nice property/host. We have 2 well behaved dogs (lab, golden retriever) and 1 rescue that is very loyal, but a bit skittish/sketchy around other dogs. This place is like a private dog park, on large, wandering acreage, but also with a wide expanse at the parking spot. Saw a few crap piles during our travels, please be respectful, as it would be unfortunate if this spot were no longer offered... This was our second trip, looking forward to the next.
This is a great place and well worth the 50-min drive! Tracy showed us where to park and gave us an overview of the property. The trails are well marked and maintained. It is a pretty and peaceful place, and our dogs had so much fun! We will be back!
We just had our third visit and, as always, it was amazing!! A must visit spot for shy doggos, reactive doggos, senior doggos, and all kinds of doggos. I have a small shy toy poodle and she loves being able to explore without worrying about the possibility of meeting stranger dogs. I have a reactive (pulls on leash, lunges, barks at dogs sometimes humans. training is underway, but recall isn't 100%). She always has a blast. Despite her recall being iffy, she does come back to us after giving us a scare. I wouldn't worry about a thing, as a fellow reactive dog owner. There are horses, but they're easily avoidable. Go for not only your dog, but yourself. Walk in nature without having to worry about your dog meeting a stranger or barking at another dog. It's the absolute best!
Check us on IG @yomonaka to see pictures of them exploring at the farm! Thank you Tracy!
Book at least 2 hours, wear rubber boots. Bring a lunch.
Wonderful secluded area. We have a reactive dog, a senior dog and a shy dog. It was such a dream to be able to relax and let them run. Will be back again!
Always a great time for our boys. Plenty of open areas and trails to run free.
I don't even know what to write besides this is amazing! The best sniffspot I've been to yet and Tracy was a great host!
Easy to find, great customer service with greeting us and giving us guidance on the maintained trails. Amazing property and so much space to explore. Our Weimaraner and German short hair loved every minute of it as well as our 3 kids. Bring rain boots or hiking boots for some of the muddy trails.
My wife and I had an amazing experience with our 2 dogs. They were so happy to have the trails to explore and run out tons of energy. We will be coming back for sure.
Very good directions, the land is full of lots of adventures. Our Harley loved it! We all loved the covered areas there as there were periods of hard rain. Plus, you had portapotties. And firewood, and kindling and even a lighter!!!! We will definitely be back!
Had an amazing adventure! Decided to try or first SniffSpot adventure on Christmas Day. It was a great idea! Such a great place to enjoy nature, peacefully. The dogs LOVED exploring!! We will be back!
What a great experience! Our dogs were in heaven! It was so much fun to watch them explore freely. The property and trails are beautiful and the fire pit and covered tables are a bonus. Will definitely come again!
We had the most amazing experience here! I have a reactive Saint Berdoodle and a somewhat reactive toy poodle. They both had so much fun at the sniffspot and the host was so easy to contact. We were unsure of where to start walking, but that was on us since we asked to not meet with the host as I was worried that meeting with a stranger would trigger my dog's reactivity and reverse training. However, we had so much fun and the dogs had a blast. It would've been better if we had booked a earlier time with more sun, but we managed to get a 4pm slot right before sundown and the upcoming rainy days. I do recommend that your dog does know the "come" command as it can be easy to get lost. My smaller dog is 100%, but the saint berdoodle is... debatable. Fortunately, I had bright clothing on her and could see where she was even if she didn't come to me. But for the peace of mind, I would say that having them trained to the command will make you have a better experience! The nature there was... breathtaking and I couldn't have asked for anything better. :)
Second visit to this spot and brought a friend this time. We love this place because it feels like there are endless trails all on private land. It also has nice amenities, like a portajohn and some areas with cover in case it rains. The forest is beautiful and pristine and the wetlands are fun to explore. I would highly recommend this spot for a fun weekend day trip!
Fantastic adventure. Took 5 dogs for 90 minutes and the loved every part. Open areas and lots of fun trails.
This was our first sniff spot visit and we had a wonderful time. The host, Tracy, met us when we arrived and gave us a quick rundown on the trails and where to explore. There is a large grassy area with loads of wooded trails to explore. We easily spent 2 hours exploring and my dog had a fantastic time. There are some horses and farm animals but they are easily avoided if your dog is reactive. We plan on visiting again soon to explore some more.
Our FAVORITE spot. We did a little Thanksgiving walk with a friend and had a great time looking at mushrooms, lychen, and a whole bunch of other nature stuff as the pups ran around. We always feel safe and welcome here, and Tracy is an amazing host. We even enjoyed a nice fire after. We always book a few hours since time seems to fly by when we're here! Price is amazing for how much you get out of it.
This location is huge and wooded with dozens of well marked trails. The owner escorted me to the starting point and gave directions. Very peaceful, quiet and private. My dog ran around joyfully and slept on the way home. Well worth the drive from Olympia. By far the best off-leash location I’ve been to.
The laminated signs are a bit light, but they are there and lead the way!
Peaceful trails and lovely green space. 10/10
Exactly as promised. The dogs had an amazing time zooming and sniffing through the woods. The honeybucket was clean. And the directions were spot on. We will definitely be back! Thank you
Although I have camped (Hipcamp.com) at the farm a couple times in the past, today was a first for bringing my dog for a designated Sniffspot visit. The Sniffspot area was easy to find thanks to the many signs displayed to guide you to the area. Tracy & Dan came through again. I honestly can't imagine how this Sniffspot area could have been any better. I really appreciate the amenities and all the hard work the hosts put into making their property the best camping or off-leash dog area available. It takes me an hour and thirty minutes to drive there from our apartment in Seattle, but that's how much I think it's worth the visit. Thank you and I'll see you again!!
Amazing experience for our first SniffSpot visit. Our dogs were so happy and thankful to be able to freely run around! Make sure to bring waterproof boots and a change of clothes as it is very swampy and muddy in some of the trails. Our dogs loved the mud and water! Very nice of the host to keep a 7 gallom jug of water as it helped rinse them off. Will be back soon.
This place is just amazing! Just what the quarantine ordered;
I wrote this super long glowing review and then my phone freaked... Bottom line is this place is amazing! We will be back again soon!
We had a great time. Fun trails and lots of space for the dogs to run around and play. Plus they had a cool seating area with a fire.
Absolutely amazing spot! Tracy’s family has lived in the area for over 100 years and she is preserving the land through renting it out for camping and dogs. The size of the property is massive. I rented it for two hours and didn’t even get to explore a large part of it. I didn’t see any people or dogs at the spot, total privacy. There was a fire and shelter. I will be returning again soon. Now I am off to Klays burger shack which is supposed to be legendary.
This is an amazing spot with lots of mini trails, log steps and bridges, flora, camp sitea for seating etc. it’s like a candy store for doggy sniffers! Owners are always maintaining and adding to the trails. Could easily get lost and spend 2 hours here. Don’t worry, there are signs to help you find your way back. The treasure hunt is the lake at the end!
What a fabulous time My husband and our two dogs had romping on the beautiful trails at Malaney Creek Farm. We were greeted by Tracy who gave us some suggestions of where to explore and when we finished we sat by a crackling fire that her husband had built. Rain or shine, enough canopy of trees to keep you dry or cool. Thank you! Rick and Karen Witters
We had such a blast at this sniffspot! There are over 3 miles of trails that you can wander and also a large field for fetch. We visited after a rainstorm the previous night so we got pretty muddy- which the pup loved!
We’ve been to many Sniffspots and this is definitely our favorite one! We come here every free Sunday we have to walk the trails and get “lost” in the woods. The trails have been getting cleared more so it’s worth booking for 2 hours to explore. You can also just hang out in the main open field and play games too! Definitely worth visiting AND camping with your reactive dog.
Loved being out in the country -- wonderfully quiet and peaceful. A bit tricky to find with our GPS, but we eventually got on to the gravel road leading to the parking area. We were there on April 2 and didn't consider ticks might be out, so were surprised to discover a couple of small ticks on one of the dogs. Next time we'll take along tick spray!
We had such an amazing day at this Sniffspot!! Tracy is super sweet and I felt comfortable immediately. There is good energy all around this farm and it's incredibly peaceful here. The property is HUGE and there are really nice, clearly marked trails throughout. There are some clearings which would be great for a picnic and I really appreciated the portaloos. Tracy was kind enough to keep her dog in the house during our visit and invited us down to the farm or anywhere else we wanted to go. We ended up staying in the woods and did not see or hear a soul the entire time. It was a really nice getaway and I loved every single minute. As a bonus, the drive is gorgeous and we really enjoyed the small country roads. We are already planning our next visit!!!
I am not much for words and honestly I’m really exhausted from the day but it was a truly enjoyable experience and I look forward to coming back
This is a fantastic SniffSpot! Upon arriving, the owner showed us around the property. They have a large open space for throwing a ball and then many marked trails for you to wander. I brought 2 dogs and they had an absolute blast. Major perk for the doggie's human - there are some toilets along the paths. I can't wait to go back!
This place is AMAZING! Definitely worth the drive no matter how far you are. So many trails, things to sniff, camp sites to check out and all yours to play in. We brought our reactive dog and his friend. They had a lot of fun and we already have reservations made to return. You can easily spend over an hour getting “lost” on the trails. Everything is marked and there’s even a cute litte loo for you to use.
