55This is an amazing location - beautiful and good privacy (though saw a neighbor and there were fishermen on the pier). That being said, this spot should be CLOSED at this time … and any times that it is suffering from a fly infestation (is that year round???). I’m not docking stars because I am giving the benefit of the doubt but my dogs and I were literally attacked by flies. I am bit up from head to toe. DEET spray did nothing to deter them. I tried to stick it out but ultimately, drove an hour each way for a half hour where we were literally running from the beach to the car with me beating the flies off myself and the dogs - who were both freaking out. It was horrible. I am traumatized and they are too - high sensitized to anything buzzing … with good cause. HORRIBLE.

55My two (2) furbabies had a great time! The water was warm, there weren't a lot of people, and we didn't see other dogs. The area is not entirely fenced so not best for dogs who dont have the best recall. The private beach area was dirty with trash, so beware if you take your shoes off and paws but other than that it was a great time! There wasn't a trash bin to dispose pet waste so unfortunately had to drive to the nearest gas station to dispose but to me not a big issue. Would reccomend just because both my dogs loved the water. (:
55Our dogs had a blast playing in the sand and cooling off under the tree! It was just what we were looking for. Just wish there was a place we could’ve thrown dog waste away.
45According to the description as it was at the timing of my booking, there may have been some misleading points, and I've offered some suggestions to the Host to ensure accuracy and improve the Spot. When I reached out prior to arrival, the Host directed me to the yard around the house as the private area, noting that other areas may not be private, so we parked over by the house and remained in that area during our visit. While definitely not 50 acres, the yard area definitely has a number of high points. There is a nice open, mowed lawn area that offers plenty of room for running around and playing fetch. A couple trees are available for shade, and there were some Adirondack chairs and a fire pit. The yard includes a nice view of the bay. This Spot's greatest asset is that the yard area has a sizeable, private beach area, including sand to hang out in and water with small waves that seems to stay shallow (knee to waist deep) for a good ways out with a sandy bottom. The beach area offers great potential for wading into small waves and playing fetch in the surf, perfect for cooling off on a hot day. There were some issues with some visible trash on the beach on the day of our visit as well as a lot of seaweed in the water. The trash issue wasn't too bad and could be easily fixed with a little more effort by the Host (I noted it in my private feedback). Not sure how much could be done about the seaweed (it probably would vary with the currents and weather), but it wasn't very troublesome to me or my dog and seemed to be a lot less upon wading a short distance into the water. Be mindful that the yard area only has a fence on the far side to separate it from a neighboring residence, and the beach area is bordered by rock jetties as well. Otherwise it is unfenced and open to an access road to the marina; the road had almost no use during our visit, but caution should still be taken with any dogs prone to wandering. Overall, this Spot offers a nice, unfenced yard area, but especially the rare opportunity for dogs to have off-leash beach access with easy waves. With a few suggestions for improvements that I sent to the Host, it has the potential for greatness.

Our unique waterfront Sniffspot offers dogs and their owners a peaceful place to explore, play, swim, and relax while enjoying stunning Chesapeake Bay views. Whether your pup loves splashing in the water, running through open grassy areas, or simply soaking up the sunshine, there’s something here for every dog to enjoy. Upon entering Kent Point Marina, follow the road to the right toward the private property sign to access our secluded waterfront yard. This quiet area provides direct beach access where your dog can safely swim, play along the shoreline, chase waves, or lounge in the sun. Looking for a snack or refreshment during your visit? Take a left turn toward the Bait House, where you’ll find our marina convenience store stocked with cold drinks, snacks, ice cream, fishing supplies, and more. We also offer carryout steamed seafood, including fresh Maryland crabs and other local favorites, perfect for enjoying after your dog’s adventure. Guests are also welcome to use the large open field located behind the Bait House. This spacious grassy area provides additional room for walking, exploring, training, or playing fetch. Please note that this field is shared with marina guests, so you may occasionally encounter other visitors enjoying the property. Whether you’re looking for a private beach outing, a swimming spot for your water-loving pup, or simply a relaxing day outdoors, Kent Point Marina offers a one-of-a-kind dog-friendly destination on the Chesapeake Bay.
