The pool is open!! Please remember - it needs to be added as an “extra” and there is a limit of 3 dogs in the pool for the longevity of our filter and pump :) There has been some confusion around booking the pool - you need to book the yard for at least as long as you book the yard. The yard blocks the spot on the calendar, not the pool. For example, if you book the yard for 90 minutes, the longest you can book the pool is 90 minutes (you can book the pool for less (e.g. 60 min or 30 min) if you prefer. Groverland is a 2 acre fenced yard so you and your furry friend(s) have plenty of room to roam. Please be sure the gate latches when you come in and when you leave. We live next to a very busy road and want to ensure everyone's safety! We have toys in a bin on the steps to the deck. Feel free to use them, but please put them back when you are done. There are poop bags and wet wipes on the toy station as well. The poop bucket is next to the gate you came in. Water dishes will be on the pavers between the pool and the house. Use of the pool is an add on, so please be sure to mark that when you make your reservations. We will provide towels, pool toys, and life jackets for your use. Please hang the towels and life jackets on the fence when you have completed your visit. We do ask that you keep barking to a minimum. I have grumpy neighbors who disapprove of the Spot :) We are open from 10am - 4pm, but will sometimes make exceptions, so feel free to ask. Now for the Debbie Downer part - as the spot has gotten more popular, we are seeing things getting damaged and, as a result, have added a few rules. If you damage something, please let us know so we can address it. Things happen, so do not worry, we just need to know so we take care of it before the next guest. Welcome to our Sniffspot area in Sturbridge (Fiskdale) MA. We are excited to provide an off leash play space for your furry bestie. **Winter alert: Other than a path from the driveway, the Sniffspot area is not shoveled and can be VERY icy and/or snow covered!! Conveniently located close to the Massachusetts Turnpike and Rte 84. The Sniffspot area is in a quiet residential, wooded area. There is a sportsman's club a ways down the road, and if there is an event, occasionally, the range can be audible. Most dogs have been completely unbothered by it. Last minute reservations are ok, but please understand, with minimal notice, we may not have the opportunity to completely refresh the play space. 🐾 Welcome! Welcome to a relaxed, dog-friendly yard where dogs can be dogs. The yard is fully fenced with two side entrances. For the easiest access, please park on the left side of the house and use the left-side gate (not the driveway side). This isn't a perfectly manicured lawn. Sniffing, zoomies, and some digging are all welcome. Digging is fair game. Just keep excavation projects away from the house and short grass to avoid creating ankle twisters. The yard was previously home to multiple dogs, so your pup may stumble across the occasional hidden toy or mystery bone. There is a milk crate if old bones and balls found you are welcome to. Located on a quiet no-through street, you'll likely see neighbors walking dogs, kids playing, and hear the distant sounds of the elementary school behind the back fence. It's all part of the neighborhood soundtrack. There's plenty of shade, chairs (feel free to move them wherever you'd like), and usually something blooming throughout the season. Want to be hands free but don't trust your dog off leash. There is a cable line with a clip attached to the large tree in the center of the backyard, the one surrounded by rocks, but the line is short. You'll need to bring a longer leash line to attach. The back porch belongs to the house, so we ask that dogs keep the party in the yard. A quick sniff is fine, but please close the porch gate if it's open. Water is available from the spigot just inside the left gate, and a water bowl is provided. Hours: Sun up to sun down. The house has several people coming and going throughout the day. If your dog is reactive or aggressive toward people, we'd still love to host you. Just send a message and give us a few days notice before your visit so we can let everyone know to avoid the yard during your reservation. We want every guest, both two- and four-legged, to have a safe, stress-free visit. The back fence has a few small gaps. They haven't been an issue yet, but every dog is different. If your pup discovers an escape route, please let me know! I'll have my handyman patch it up before the next adventure. Meet Rascal: Our fluffy black cat and self-appointed neighborhood supervisor. Our house is on .22 acres of land, with our backyard completely fenced in! Our yard gets some sunshine but also some shade from the trees lining the back of the yard, so it’s great for those warm summer days! There’s a bit of a slope to walk down into the yard, so just be aware as you enter through the gate! Your pups will love to run around the yard, while you get to sit and relax on the patio at the table and chairs! We have a bucket of dog toys for your pup to enjoy! There’s a space with dirt and sand, feel free to let your pup dig through- we don’t mind! During the warmer months you can enjoy a kiddie pool (for a small fee) or just the mist setting on the hose to cool off. Please note we do not provide towels so be sure to bring your own if you want to enjoy these amenities! If you’d like to rent at night, our patio is lit up by string lights, and we have additional motion sensor lights placed around the fence in the yard, so it’s perfect for a late night play session! We are located next to the highway, so there is some noise from traffic. Overall not very loud but occasionally there is some elevated noise levels with trucks, motorcycles, etc. Our yard is sprayed every 3 weeks for ticks and mosquitos, but there is still bug spray available to use if ever needed! Welcome to our spot! We have a big beautiful fully fenced in backyard with lots of features for pups to enjoy. Wide open grassy spaces, gentle hills, mossy areas, trees and bushes to explore, a small water feature, sunny and shady spots! We have a nice patio area with a variety of seating and tables. There is a hose for filling up dog bowls (please just ensure it is turned back off!). At the back of the yard, there is a gate leading out into woods/conservation area that can also be explored. If you bring kids, we have a small playhouse on the patio with some toys inside, along with two slides in the middle of the yard. Just ask for the WiFi password!
