It’s been a labor of love—years of removing invasive species and re-establishing native plants. The wildflowers and grasses are thriving, with peak blooms throughout June, July, and August. By September, many of the plants begin setting seed, which is still a beautiful and important part of the natural prairie cycle. The designated trail offers a tidy, easy walk through the nature area. If your dog chooses to roam off trail, they’re stepping into a more immersive slice of Midwest prairie. With that experience can come sticker plants, burrs, mud, uneven ground, and the occasional wet area. If you want to keep your pup clean and sticker-free, we recommend staying on the trail.… because nature! Also you can use the firepit and seating. There is a large grassy plot, then you can walk a trail on either side of the pond, then there is a large prairie spot in back of pond.
