55First time at this spot and it was so worth the 2 hour drive! It was the perfect quiet walk my pups and I needed! Everything was easy to find, fence was secure, and most importantly my dogs had a blast exploring the trails, the woods, and the pond!
55This place was pawfect! Fully fenced in, so many clear trails, benches to sit on, water pump. My dogs had so much fun and were so tired after our visit that they slept for the entire hour car ride home. The hosts greeted us and were very kind and friendly. They hid a toy out on the property for our pups to find and keep. My human child and her friend had a great time running the property and exploring as well. This was our very first sniff spot experience and it was great!!

55My dogs had a fantastic time! They thoroughly enjoyed the pond which was clean and healthy looking plus not too deep. There’s a good amount of beach to run on too. In between water sessions they ran through the 10 acres of trails that were easy to navigate everything lead back to the pond. Which meant more water time! Hounds were in the distance but couldn’t see them so my dogs weren’t bothered by them. Hosts were very nice and understanding of my crazy pups.

“At the very back (west) of our 10 acre parcel we have a neighbor in a log cabin who is 200-feet away from our fence line. they have a couple of gorgeous hound dogs that you can hear bark if they are outside. they are on invisible fencing and have never come near our fence. you may be able to see them through the trees. If they are outside, they will bark. to the north of our property we border the manistee national forest and a 60-acre, non-motorized lake. (the lake can be seen in some photos.) there is a fence separating the dog park from the lake. it is possible to see or hear people or pets across the lake or people in non-motorized boats and kayaks during your visit. there is more activity summer weekends and holidays. our property is completely private and scenic. and very quiet most of the time. please contact us with any questions. it is our pleasure to host you!”

Pond, Lake, and Woods *Our pond is treated for algae. The products we use are dog safe and natural. The color in the pond is food grade. *If you see a turtle, do not approach it! Let us know and we will relocate it. *There are some prickers around the banks of the pond and in some areas of the woods. *We have had one guest who let us know their dog got some burrs. *Expect to encounter normal insects from a woods setting. One guest has spotted a snake, (which was non-poisonous). *We hide Kong Squeakair tennis balls in the woods for dogs to find. There is an inherent risk in letting your dog play with tennis balls. By visiting our Sniffspot you are accepting this risk. If you would like us to remove any balls that we have hidden, we would be happy to do so. However, balls/toys are often left behind by guests (we have a large property). Please closely monitor your dog. The safety of your dog is your responsibility!

Love Lock Gate (10-day notice)40 credits

In the tradition of the Love Lock Bridge in Paris, France, we will supply you with a beautiful dog tag with your dog's name engraved on it. Just like in Paris where hundreds of thousands of lovers would put a padlock on the bridge over the Seine River to symbolize their eternal love, you will attach this dog tag on the designated gate (Love Lock Gate) in our woods. We want you to celebrate the love you share with your pooch and reflect on the memories you have made here.

We will supply your group with a grill & charcoal, picnic table, extra table (for gifts, cake, or party favors), extra chairs, 2-large trash cans, and extra dog water bowls. *Minimum 24 hours notice

Tiki Time40 credits

(Seasonal) It's TIKI TIME! Enjoy our private beach at night with your pooch! A spectacular view with the flames from the Tiki torches reflecting off the water. Includes fire pit (fire will be ready when you arrive). Bring your own hotdogs, smores, etc. Swim or not, it's up to you! :-) Must book a minimum of 2-hours after 7pm. Be advised - the beach area is outside the fenced Sniffspot and you may see/hear other people and dogs.

No campfires please, We are in a National forest. Please avoid all other possibilities of fire. Sniffspot leaves a half hour between visits for current guest to leave and a new guest to arrive. Please be timely and when possible please schedule tight after a scheduled guest or leave a 2-hour window between so a 1-hour guest can squeeze in. We are filling up on weekends. Our son created this beautiful trail through the woods where we would take Bear for walks everyday. Our beloved Bear Bear has passed and we are opening up this trail for a sniffspot in his honor.
