Welcome to Water and Woods Canine Sanctuary! Our unique escape-the-city retreat is designed especially for dog enthusiasts like us. Spread across a beautiful property with a massive 1-acre pond and a scenic wooded area with walking trails, this is the ultimate paradise for water-loving dogs or anyone looking for a peaceful, distraction-free play date. Our property features full access to the partially fenced 6.5 acre retreat we call the “Water and Woods” retreat. A classic A-frame cabin and a separate garage structure sit onsite where guests can relax on the porches or explore the grounds. Guests are provided a code to the A-frame for toilet access. Dogs have full freedom to swim, zoom around the grassy yard, explore the wooded paths, and relax with you on two separate porch setups. The Space: 1-Acre Swimming Pond & Dock: A massive swimming pond featuring a doggie dock is perfect for dock-diving, fetching, or just easily getting in and out of the water. Pondside Relaxation: Relax right by the water in our comfortable lakeside hammocks, or bring a picnic or snack and enjoy the outdoor picnic tables while the kids play on the kids' toys (swing and mini zip-line, trampoline; always watch children while playing). Grab a hiking stick and venture into the wooded walking trails located around the perimeter and behind the large pond area. Large Open A-Frame Porch: The main cabin features a spacious open back porch equipped with secure gates. You can close the gates to use the porch as an elevated, enclosed dog-watching deck, or leave them open for extra running room. Covered Garage Porch: Located on the separate garage structure, this covered, screened-in porch acts as your rain-protected sanctuary and includes porch swing seating, family games, accessible electrical outlets for charging your devices, a human comfort station stocked with bug spray, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer. Dedicated Dog Comfort Amenities: We try to think of everything so you can pack light! On-site amenities include: A convenient outdoor wash station with clean dog towels provided so you can rinse and dry off pond water, mud, and sand before the ride home. Waste stations fully stocked with poop bags, a pooper scooper, and a designated pet waste disposal bins. Dog First Aid Kit: Located on the covered porch for peace of mind and quick treatment of any minor trail scrapes or pad scratches. Indoor Amenities & Restroom AccessPrivate Restroom: Guests are welcome to use the downstairs bathroom (toilet and sink use only) inside the main A-frame cabin. Kitchen counter, sink, and refrigerator use is also available to keep yours and your pups treats cool and have a landing space for picnic needs. Complimentary bottles of water available in refrigerator. Cabin Boundaries: To protect our soft pine flooring and keep the space safe, the rest of the A-frame's open living areas, kitchenette (no use of stove, dishwasher, kitchen utensils, serving ware, etc.) and upstairs loft are strictly off-limits. A clear path and safety gates will guide you directly through the kitchenette to the restroom. Arrival, Parking & AccessParking: Please park in the designated spots located on the north (left) side of the A-frame cabin entrance. Easy Check-In: Access to the property is entirely contactless. We will provide your unique cabin keyless entry code automatically as soon as your reservation is finalized. Safety & Cleanliness Pond Safety: Swimming is at your own risk. Please supervise your dog closely around the water and the dock at all times. Trail Awareness: Because the trails run through a natural wooded area, we highly recommend checking your pup for ticks and burs after your walk. Wildlife Awareness: North Texas has an incredible ecosystem part of which are a few biting types. Please be aware of the risk of wildlife encounters while visiting rural Texas spaces.
