Our fully fenced .3 acre backyard is a great spot to spend some quality outdoor time with your dog(s)! ALL are welcome as long as they can follow the safety rules. We love all breeds and do not discriminate! We are a rescue dog family, having been saved by our previous dog, Trixie! She lived to the amazing age of 20 and crossed the rainbow bridge at comfortably at home in March of 2024. Lola now resides with us, a Greyhound/German Shepherd mix who was found on the interstate. She's quirky, anxious and weird so you probably won’t meet her, but we adore her. Please enjoy our yard as much as we do, and keep coming back!

Enjoy seating on the terrace, in one of our Adirondack chairs or bring a blanket and enjoy tranquil views of Lake Whitehurst and Norfolk Botanical Garden, while watching planes take off from Norfolk Airport. If your dogs are into water sports, you've found the right place: There is a sloping bulkhead that eases into the water, 2-3 feet deep at the edge. PLEASE NOTE: Humans are not allowed in the lake, per Norfolk regs. The picturesque Wiseacre Estate has been an Airbnb for 10+ years, and now is also a private, peaceful retreat for your beloved doggies. * Hose and water bowl on-premises. Please park to the side of the garage and make your way around the left of the house to backyard. Kindly bring poop bags and pick up after your dog(s) (trashcans on red patio). Thank you and ENJOY! We have been overwhelmed at the support our spot has been given by so many wonderful dogs and their humans. Currently, we are facing some unforeseen circumstances and hard decisions have had to be made. That said, for the indefinite future, Penny’s Place will only be open during the morning hours of 6 am until 8 am.
