Woofing Woods- Reopening April 2023!
Does your pup like to get their paws dirty? A woodland hike really gets their tail wagging? Located on a quiet street in Harmony Twp/Ambridge (Beaver County, PA), Woofing Woods is about 5.25 woodland acres of my non-level, unfenced, hilly, sloped, wooded, private property for your pup's enrichment, exercise, and fun! Sometimes muddy, always sniffy.
Prepare for hills and hiking- trails, dirt, rocks, bugs, and climbing! My backyard slopes downhill and becomes wooded. The trail into the woods feels steep to some. At the bottom you'll find a supply station, and you'll see three main trails to explore. The trail to the left is a turn around and a fun little sniffy area for your pup. There is a muddy area nearby-- and watch for dinos! The second trail takes you to the hammocks, and the field, stream, and rest of the beautiful property beyond that. The third trail winds to the right and meets up near the hammocks and field area as well. The stream and the rest of the property is beyond that.
Woofing Woods continues uphill again once you cross the stream and the very back of the property (some of the most beautiful in my and Luke's opinions) levels out and feels very much like a secluded nature park. Worth the hills and hiking! However, even if you and your pup spend the time close to the trail heads sniffing around the special little spots that I've created and just exist naturally, or just resting in a hammock, then Woofing Woods will have given you what it gives Luke and I- and that's why I'm sharing! The leg workout is bonus!
Some neighborhood noises, cars, or an overhead plane may be heard occasionally but there's plenty of nature and solitude for your pup to enjoy. Maple, oak, beech, and cherry trees, deer and small animal paths, mosses, ferns, dry leaves, and even a stream all make for a naturally snifftastic time spent in the woods with your pup.
Note: My property is hilly! The change in elevation is about 100 feet from your vehicle in the front yard looking east to the far side of the property past the stream. The walk back will be gradually uphill except the small portion that meets up with the backyard where it's steeper. Perfect for agility training and working on socialization skills!
Please consider whether my spot is a good fit for you and your pup due to the terrain and unfenced aspects of the property. My Sniffspot is also not great for small kids or possibly older joints and bones on pups due to the terrain. My pup and I love it but if you need or prefer level ground or cement with fencing then we're probably not a great fit! Make sure it's cool with your vet first. I hope to be adding more extras soon! Thanks for sniffing around!
