There is some tall grass in spots that may have burrs/stickers. There are some branches on the ground near the willow trees. A muskrat used to live in the pond and left holes near the bank. With the summer drought, the pond is low and there is mud. During summer, there is sometimes a bloom of duckweed, which is harmless plant. The pond is tested regularly for coliform bacteria. If the pond is too low or frozen over, we will be closed. Our small hobby farm raises a variety of animal including chickens, ducks, turkeys and goats. Our chickens live an active lifestyle in a generously fenced area, where they’re free to forage all day long. They eat high quality local food from nearby Mt. Eaton. Eggs are only cleaned if visibly soiled to maintain their natural bloom as much as possible. Eggs will be located in a cooler at the entrance when you arrive.

Feel free to use the fenced inpart and the back lot. I just ask all gates are shut before you leave. You pick up after your dog. Any trash is thrown away. If you use the hose, please turn it off. And I will not be held liable for anyone that gets hurt on my property or on the child equipment. The pool is off-limits.

Grow Joy Farm is a 30 acre working farm practicing rotational grazing meaning some of our pastures are left empty throughout the year. Keep in mind because this is a working farm, there are cows, chickens, geese, emus, and possibly other animals in various locations. We would love to have all dogs enjoy this beautiful space, but it is required to have a meet-and-greet visit before enjoying a fully private experience. If this will be your first time, call me in advance so that I can greet you before bringing dog out of car. That way I can discuss the spaces around the farm. Then we can bring your leashed dog out to see how they respond to this environment. If need be the fenced area is always a good spot. Reminder, this is a working from, there is mud and other places a city dog would love to roll in!! There is a hose for a nice rinse, on site if needed. When I discovered Sniffspot, I knew there would be some lucky pups that would enjoy using this revolving space, I know our dogs do!! Some of the pastures have what I would call dog safe fencing. While others, dogs would likely be able to get out of the fence, have a quick lesson of electric fences, or under the gates. The pond can be rented as well, but it is not fenced at all, and is a wetland, so I can't promise cleanliness. Depending on the season you might find blueberries, black raspberries, or blackberries.
