Private Pond Pooch Paradise

Our property sits 1200+ feet off of the main road and is a total of 28 acres. There are neighboring properties that are 50 acres and 80 acres so no close homes in most directions. We are located approximately 1 mile from West Branch State Park. The property has a clean swimming pond, a walkable forest area with some established trails that are currently covered with leaves. We are a working farm with about 8 acres of crops. There is a large 3 acre wheat field in the front great for ball throwing. The remaining non crop acres are walking paths with some cut grass and yard. We do not have any livestock but our neighbors have cows. There is a secure fence on one side of our property that keeps the cows in their pasture. They’ve never visited us! Neighboring properties are also farms with over 100 acres of open land, woods and crops surrounding our property with no main or visible roads. You can see houses on one side of the property and that’s where the cows live! They have dogs but they’ve never visited us. We do have 2 well behaved German Shorthaired Pointers named River and Remmy who run freely on the property. However we will keep them inside when guests use the property. We have a bench to sit on in a shaded area around the pond for relaxing. The woods are beautiful to walk about as well. There is a large rock in the woods to take a rest on with an amazing ravine creek view. Our property is large and not fenced so dogs with impeccable recall should enjoy the freedom to play, run, swim, sniff and explore. Leashed walks are also welcome. Long leads can also be used. Because we are so far off of any main roads you will feel comfortable here! Your pups are welcome to swim in the pond during your visit. During recent rains our property stays mainly dry and the woods are relatively dry as well as there are many leaves covering the ground. In the winter when the ground is frozen it’s a beautiful walk.

Mel has such a great spot to let the dogs swim! The dogs had a blast running on the banks and chasing a ball. The water wasn't moving so fast that we had to worry about losing toys and it had nice deep spots for my bigger dog!

Erik was friendly and communicative when I messaged him with questions. I had a great experience. The fence and gate were secure, the yard was tidy and clean, the area was quiet. My dog was very comfortable and had a great time. 10/10!

Charlie had a fantastic time celebrating his 3rd birthday running and wrestling with his brothers. The yard is spacious, has shade and seating to make for a comfortable time. Even better they were asleep in the car by the time we got home and will nap for the next few hours giving me time to get some peace and quiet.

The yard was bigger than it looks in the pictures and was very clean. The tall fence kept my boys from being too concerned about any small sounds they heard and there were plenty of shady spaces for them to rest in.

Wow! Pete’s Place was fantastic!! We were greeted with open arms, he had set up a kiddie pool for Bo and Bo absolutely LOVED it! Lots of room to play fetch with beautiful sights and sounds. Water bowls were available on both sides of the house as well! We will definitely be back, thanks Pete! Bo (and the humans) loved it!

Pete was great! He provided water for the dogs, showed us where the bathrooms were, and the fence is very secure and there’s a lot of room For the dogs to run around. It made our first experience with this system so easy and nice!

Awesome place to stop and let the pup run. There were also various types of farm animals to help socialize and do slow introductions to different types of creatures. Owners dog Hank came along to enjoy some running around as well. Definitely worth the stop!

This is a hidden gem of SniffSpot. A beautiful, clean, open, inviting space that is probably under an hour from many places in Pittsburgh. It is very much a farm, with goats, pigs, ducks, chickens, etc but they have their own enclosure. Dogs are able to approach the livestock fence, but the farm animals are rock solid and don't challenge or flee, even when dogs bark (sorry about that, one of mine is still learning manners). The yard area is grassy and clean. The woods has lots of fallen leaves, etc that both my dogs loved sniffing and rummaging through. There were no burdocks or stickers anywhere. Although it's been very wet lately, there was no mud. I brought a short hair breed and a poodle mix, neither of whom needed any special cleaning when we were done. The hostess was gracious, friendly and eager to accommodate us in any way. We look forward to returning.

The dogs had a lot of fun sniffing and exploring the paths around the fields! The pond was clean and both had fun splashing in it. They got to let some zoomies out in the big grass area. And the trail into the woods was nice and shaded to cool off.

The property is absolutely beautiful with plenty of space for the dogs to run around. We spent all of our time at the pond because the dogs were having such a blast swimming. Didn’t see any animals running around. Did see one of the property owners for just a minute, very nice. We will definitely be visiting again in the future!

Beautiful property! My dog had a blast running around the woods without a care in the world. Relaxing by/in the pond after his run in the woods was his second favorite part. We had a great time, and will absolutely be back! ☺️💜

The owner is extremely nice and dog loving. He was happy to have us. Our dog loves to be off leash and this gave him the perfect opportunity to run around and sniff without worry of who or what is around! Definitely recommend 👍🏻 we could hear the owners dogs but they were in the house. The owner said they love to play but only if we wanted.

Beautiful property. We didn't get to explore all the trails because we were focused on training, but what we saw was lovely. Lots of diverse habitat and really good sniffing.
