Description

Our little slice of heaven is certified a National Wildlife Refuge. We have a large variety of birds and pollinators. We have a walking/bike riding trail, dog sensory gardens, an orchard to pick fruit from when in season, splash pools, agility equipment, horses next door to get to know, meadows to play in and sometimes there are foster puppies to meet. We have lots of spaces for humans to enjoy too; ie firepit ara with lots of seating, a couple picnic tables and various other seating for conversation and gathering.

Hazards

HOST NOTE

Nothing overly serious if you're used to walking in nature. We are a national certified wildlife habitat property. Here is a list of possible concerns: Bees-in the meadows & wildflowers Wasps-a kinda symbiotic with the fig tree. They like the figs more than you. Occasional snake- mostly our big Mr Black snake, who helps keep bad snakes away. Toads- if your dog starts foaming, it was probably a toad. Yuck! But it happens. Mushrooms- there are various kinds that pop up. I do remove them when poop scooping, but I don't always find them all. Tree roots! There are plenty in the back areas under the gum trees, so watch your step. Random holes. Dogs dig. We have moles, so dogs dig more. We fill in as best we can, but again. Watch your step. Finally, we do have 7 dogs and could have missed a land mine or two. It's a big space! Our 7 dogs have free roam when space isn't rented.

PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THE NEIGHBORS GATE IN BACK OR TO THE HORSE PASTURE ON THE LEFT, and please keep your pets from going on the deck (We will have an Xpen up until we get gates installed. The agility equipment is on a cart in the horse pen and available for use during your visit. We don't leave it out all the time because our dogs will tear it up. During the winter, we are happy to have a fire in the firepit if you would like. Just let us know. WHAT TO EXPECT... When our spot is rented out, our 7 dogs will be inside for "nap time." You will have full access to the entire fenced yard. That has many sensory plants and areas for dogs to enjoy as well as a relaxing environment for humans to enjoy too. Fresh water is available at the back of the house by the HVAC and Hammock swings. There are mowed walking or bike riding trails that follow the inside perimeter of the fence (feel free to use the bikes behind the garage). Our dogs particularly like to walk and sniff the trail with us. And our younger pups like to frolic in the meadow. Meet the horses through the fence- they are very dog savy. Lastly, Please don't knock on our door. Message if you need me. HAVE A GREAT TIME!
