35For my dog, this just wasn't a good fit because she is already anxious, which is why we were hopeful about snifspots in general. She was able to jump up on the wire fencing and bend it over with her weight and she was in flight mode so we had to cut our visit short by a half hour. The road noise was just too much. Probably had more poop than I thought should be there since I stepped in a pile while on the way to clean up my dogs mess. Just wasn't for us.
45Very nice spot, good fenced in space, we had a good time! Only reason for 4 stars was there was a lot of dog poop. Stepped in a few piles during my time there.
55My dog loved this! The fencing was great for us and he had plenty of space to run around and play :). It’s close to the road but I didn’t have any issues
55My boy loved his time here so much! The fence was super sturdy and a good height. I wasn’t worried about him getting out at all.
55Nice spot... use it a lot...
55Awesome place.. Cooper enjoyed it... will definitely use again... 2nd place we have been so far and this one had shade when we went... which was awesome lol
55We took our 2 large dog’s to David’s and they had a blast running around in his backyard’s VERY large space. The house is easy to find and the instructions for accessing the yard were clear. We really appreciate having such a space right here in Albany. Thanks, David!
35I was not sure where to park but the host replied to a message so I know where to park next time.
35The good: the location is very central to town and easy to access from the road. There’s a good amount of open space and a nice high fence on one side that keeps balls from going over. The area is not muddy at all
55Super cool my dogs had a blast!

Jasper Memorial Sanctuary NOW OPEN

**Finally, Jasper Memorial Sanctuary is ready to host dogs. The recovery of this area following the January storm has been extensive. Please be mindful of the scope of the damage and tread lightly to allow the land to recover. As new trees and shrubs are planted in the fall, please ensure that they are not damaged by dogs. There will be ongoing logging on most weekdays on our property and adjacent neighbor's property. I will keep the Sanctuary closed during some of this time as the logger brings his dog to work. The cost to recover/rebuild Jasper Memorial Sanctuary was extensive. Material costs were over $5000. Labor costs, had I hired all the hours worked, are over $15,000. The price increase for utilizing the Sanctuary is small in comparison to the expenses incurred from the loss. Thank you to all my amazing guests who have given your dog(s) opportunity to find their calm within by visiting Jasper Memorial Sanctuary. It is amazing to see your dogs and you finding your inner peace. Thank you too for following all of the rules to keep this SS sustainable into the future. The fee set is the amount needed to allow me to keep this site open and provide improvements when needed. (I understand other sites charge less, but I've learned charging less is not financially sustainable. Hosts do not earn what they charge). I love hosting new and returning guests. RECENT IMPROVEMENTS/RESTORATION: Approximately 80 damaged/downed trees removed. 40 uprooted stumps ground out 340' of new 5' fencing installed 140' fencing repaired New entrance gate/location created 100s perhaps 1000s of poison oak dug out (it's still present, just fewer) Culvert installed at entrance with gravel path to gate (pending) New signs installed A 6'x6' sand box has been added. Please encourage digging in this location only. Discourage digging in all other locations for the safety of everyone and the preservation of the environment. A poop bag dispenser has been installed on a post near the gate and will be kept filled. MEMBERSHIP AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST to repeat/returning guests after we have met. Please message me if interested. Jasper Memorial Sanctuary, named in memory of my soul dog Jasper, is no larger than 1.3 acres in and fully fenced. First time guest? Use discount code FarmPlay for a $5 discount. Fostering or training a dogo? Use code FosterSF&G for a $5 discount. This is a 5 acre farm with 1 full acre dedicated to the sniff spot. The pastures are cross fenced allowing for room to explore but not too far. Horses that offer some additional entertainment but are always a safe distance with a large space (enough to drive a large truck through) between fence lines. The animals are used to the dogs being around and even barking at them so they don't respond and generally the dogs get bored of them and move onto exploring the space. We have some simple agility items in the space along with balls and other toys to help entertain both you and your dogs. As a guest you have access to: * Fully Fenced Acre of play space for off leash adventures * Water - leave the blue handle in the up position and use the small black lever at the top of the hose near the faucet to get water. * Poop baggies * White garbage can * Dog towels, clean ones in the clear container and dirty ones go into the grey tote. We ask you use 1 towel per visit if possible. * Porta Potty * Shelter with chairs and a small table you can put anywhere in the field during your visit we just ask that you put them back when you are done. * During the summer days we include a doggie pool. They are blue kiddie pools. Double them up when you use them so they are easier to empty and less likely to break. Please dump the pool and return them to the corner when you are finished. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: This is a field that has uneven ground including mole and gopher holes. Please watch your step. Please keep within the Sniffspot area. If you happen to throw a ball over a fence just message me and I can retrieve it after your visit. It is important to stay outside of areas market private property. Those gates also have extra locks but just in case we want to be sure everyone stays safe. USE OF INDOOR ARENA: During harsh weather (over 95 degrees or winter would be those days of wind and heavy rain) the indoor arena may be an option. YOU MUST MESSAGE me prior to the visit to ask for use so we can make that ready for you if it is available. We are excited to have you come and share this special place with us.
