It’s a place where dogs get to be dogs. If your dog lives in an apartment or condominium, is traveling through the Greensboro area, or simply needs a safe place to stretch those legs and enjoy some real off-leash freedom, you’ve found it. We also welcome families looking for a private place where children and dogs can safely enjoy time together. Bring a friend. Pack a picnic. Grab your favorite chair and relax while the dogs run themselves silly. 🐾 Over Half an Acre Fenced — Surrounded by 5½ More Acres of Peace Our private playground is a little more than ½ acre, fully enclosed with silver chain-link fencing, with another 5½ acres surrounding it for privacy and serenity. This isn't just a little yard beside our house. Your dog gets a field, garden areas, trees, paths and plenty of interesting places to investigate. Let them run through the field. Let them sniff every plant. Let them race through the garden rows. And yes—let them dig! We don't mind. There are smells to investigate, places to explore and plenty of room for a good case of the zoomies. Our field is mowed weekly, but this is real country property—not artificial turf or a perfectly manicured lawn. You may find bare spots, dirt, leaves, sticks and, occasionally, a little something another four-legged visitor left behind before we found it. That's okay. Dogs aren't looking for perfection. They're looking for adventure. 🐕 Big Dogs. Little Dogs. ALL BREEDS WELCOME. There is something here for dogs of every size. We share a fence line with our neighbors, who have two small dogs who may occasionally come out to say hello or run the fence. Their appearance can't be guaranteed, but some of our regular guests actually look forward to seeing them! If your dog is reactive, please talk with us before booking. Depending on your dog's particular needs, we may be able to make accommodations so everyone can have a comfortable visit. 💦 Run. Splash. Sniff. Dig. Repeat. Water-loving dogs can enjoy our puppy pool, hose and spraying fire hydrant, with an outdoor water spigot conveniently available. And when everyone needs a break, there are plenty of places to settle in. You'll find comfortable seating throughout the property, including our much-loved glider in the shade, cushioned benches, hammock, zero-gravity recliner, pillows and even a lounging blanket. Find your favorite spot and stay awhile. 🌻 Everything Begins at the Sunflower She Shed The Sunflower She Shed is your home base while you're here. Start your visit there—you'll find what you need for your adventure, including special treats for your pup. Outside is an 8-foot covered porch with a fan, and inside you'll find a comfortable heated and air-conditioned room with a refrigerator and microwave. We take care of the dogs, but we haven't forgotten their people. Cold drinks, snacks and frozen treats are available for purchase in the She Shed refrigerator and freezer. Grab something cold—or make yourself comfortable with a hot drink—and enjoy your time away from everything. 🔒 Completely Private Means Private. One thing you won't find at Sweetwater Court is a camera watching you. We have no cameras in our private playground. Your privacy matters to us. During your reservation, we want you to relax and enjoy the property without feeling like anyone is watching. And as far as we're concerned... Your Dog Can Do Nothing Wrong Here. ❤️ Dig. Bark. Sniff. Our 2.5 acre park is a tranquil path through the woods with multiple path options and limitless nature to behold, accompanied by a soundtrack of birds and insects. The ample trails that cover the park are easy to traverse, and your dogs will be delighted exploring the endless smells in between those paths to sniff…and pee on. If you love to hike with your dog but wish they could be off leash to investigate the wonders of the woods so you can marvel at the variety of ferns and fungi, this is the place to let your dog run free without worrying about them getting lost. The trails and fencing are a continual work in progress, maintained and built over a decade and then some. We ask our own dogs to help decide where any new paths should go, and if there are any gaps in the perimeter fencing, we hope you and your dogs will do the same. Please be mindful of roots and rocks along the paths, the trail is more natural in some places than others. Get your birding app ready, put your running shoes on, bring your camera and binoculars--there is more to this park than joyous zoomies for your dog! Come visit this pupper pasture paradise! You and your furry friend can enjoy ~5 acres of open pasture where they can romp, run, and roll. While the pasture is uncut and has tall native grasses for your dog to run through, the perimeter of the pasture is well maintained and mowed so that you can clearly see where you're walking. The perimeter is also bordered by native trees and perennials which host a variety of birds (herons, osprey, eagles, hawks, ducks, geese, and many songbirds), as well as butterflies (monarchs and swallowtails). A large portion of the field is bordered by the Rocky River.
