Area was pretty small and there were patrons of the dog training facility trying to use the area as well. The fence has a sign saying the area is for use of the folks that have worked with the ranch before and is only to be used in 10 mins increments. One lady came by and thought we were hogging the area and said "I guess I'll go find somewhere else", after having walked around waiting for us to leave. Even though we explained we had booked 1.5 hrs through Sniffspot. Other reviews mention this same issue, it's unfortunate nothing is being done about it.

    Good spot

Our first Sniff Spot visit. My dog loved having the freedom to explore and run across the field, while occasionally engaging with the two horses in the adjoining pasture. It was nice knowing he was secured with the fully fenced “paddock”.

Amazing place with lots of space.

Please ENTER THROUGH 212TH WAY SE or better yet Google search ARGUS RANCH! Google took me to a different entrance and I was just on the other side of the fence. Needs Proper signage. There were people with their dogs inside the paddock during our rental and I bet they were from that dog training center. They had no idea so I can't blame them. Hosts never responded when I needed assistance.

The area was very underwhelming, didn't feel like a full acre. Make sure to bring your own water and toys. Access to the river is an extra and it's away from the paddock. Messaged the owner twice for more information on river access and they never responded to me. We also had a random person show up trying to get in the paddock while we were there and our time wasn't even over. Otherwise, its near a national park so that was cool

The regular Sniffspot is nothing to write home about. The river though? That’s worth it.

  • Jasmine M., Jun 12, 2023

Nice spot, plenty of room for a dog to run! However, when I entered the address into Google Maps, it directed me to the wrong side of the property. You need to enter from 212th Way SE.

Lovely clean and grassy field— overgrown in some spots just means more for my dog to explore. There’s a horse nearby and and a watchful rooster, both were visible but not accessible. Bring your own water. Fencing is secure, the paddock could use a Sniffspot sign because there’s another nearby and I wasn’t sure which is which.

  • Stephanie S., May 22, 2023

Overgrown and gate not very secure. If you go on the weekend there could be a lot of other dogs walking by. Bring water and water bowls.

Hello and welcome to our Sniffspot! We are new to being a Sniffspot host and we hope you enjoy your time here. It's a large, open one acre pasture with plenty of room to run and play. Tall fir trees, farmland and single family homes surround the property. There are neighbors who walk their dogs or play with their dogs in their yards. There are no shared fence-lines but we are noting this in case your dog might be reactive or sensitive to seeing and hearing other dogs and people. Double gated entrance for security. Park along the fence on the gravel drive. Plenty of room for your pup to enjoy the zoomies! A few things below to note, thank you! *For the toys and water bowls, we have labeled bins for 'clean' and 'dirty/used'. Please utilize items from the clean containers and then place in used/dirty so we can thoroughly clean them. Thank you! * The terrain of the pasture does have some dips and there is a section of mown grass, as well as a portion of long pasture grass, and sticks from the fir trees. Wearing solid and/or waterproof shoes will help you navigate the land. *September 2023: we have added 4 sets of string lights to our fence and one spotlight on the far power pole (motion sensor). It adds some brightness to the pasture for evening visitors. Note that since it is an acre lot, there is a portion of the pasture that is still quite dark once the sun is fully set. *There are three chickens on a neighboring fence line and the gate to their henhouse yard has a sign (don't let the chickens out, no matter what they say), as well as a secure gate latch plus bungee cord. They will stay on the far side of their yard, and hide under the shrub/tree cover so are usually not be visible from the Sniffspot pasture, but wanted to share in case this is bothersome to some pup guests. Our rooster, as well as neighborhood roosters, are regularly heard. *please note: this pasture was used for a month (June 2023) by our goats & chickens and so the dirt in areas may be infused with the flavor of goat. While we have cleaned much of it, it can still be tasty to some dogs so wanted you to be aware * due to the burn ban, wildland fires and the dryness of our land, we ask for no smoking on the property at this time, thank you

Magical Mossy Forest

Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot is a dog-tested doggy preferred Sniffspot just outside Redmond on the way to Carnation. It is also preferred by people, adults and kids alike because it has water, power, trails, picnic tables, chairs, several firepits, porta-potties, 2 swingsets, 3 Arrow Fort, a log bridge to cross over Little Ames Creek for when the creek is full, lots of picturesque moss, and many trails over 5 forested moss covered acres. Note that the creek is dry in midsummer until the fall rains kick in. Parking is near the road, separated by 100 ft of woods, so we suggest that all our doggy friends be leashed until they are walking on the trails with you. The parking area can only be located where it is to protect the ecology of Little Ames Creek. Please leash your dog until into the forest away from the parking area. Watch kids and dogs in the parking area near the road, and at Ames Creek. There is a map of the main trails in a photo on the Sniffspot site. A log bridge is used to cross Ames Creek, or you can ford it to cross into the rest of Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot. Please pack out doggy bags with you because there is no garbage pickup here, please leave this natural location the same as you found it. If there is a downpour and you want to wait it out there is a dry shed to wait in in the parking area. Access to power helps keep your batteries charged. Please carry your own toilet paper - sorry it gets stolen so we can't promise there will be any TP, it is cleaned once a week, Let us know if you have any questions. Enjoy!
