Description

2 acres with 5 foot chain link fence surrounded by forest and wetlands. This offers a distraction-free place for your dogs to get their zoomies on! You get both shade and sun, with grass, dirt, wood chips, (and a bit of mud in some spots during the rainy season). We are in the country, so our park doesn't share a fence line with neighbors. You won't see any other dogs. There could be far away dog barks from a few blocks over, but nothing up close. We don't use toxic sprays, so rest assured it's a natural and safe place to romp and play in private. The 2 acres has mature trees throughout and is mowed during the growing season. It's perfect for throwing tennis balls and getting lots of good sniffs in. You will be able to see your dog at all times (unless he/she is hiding behind a tree.) If you add "The Woods" extra (see below) detailed instructions will be within the Sniffspot park, on the SouthEast fence next to the big red bow.

Hazards

In the wet season, there is a small "pond" that is mostly muddy water. Dogs love it! People should bring towels for the happy dogs. :) There is a hose/nozzle to easily spray your dog off. I strongly recommend NOT letting your dog drink out of the "mud pond", particularly after a warm day. There is a nice fresh bowl of water that is a much better choice. The property is gently hilly and has fun things for dogs like sticks, holes, grass, dirt and wood chips. People should be careful to not trip over the fun dog things (sticks, holes, etc.) :) In spring/early summer, the number of mosquitoes will vary based on time of day and sunny spots vs shady spots, so if you have bug spray, bring it just in case. The rest of the year doesn't have mosquitoes. If you added "The Woods" extra to your visit, be aware that it's a forest with holly trees that have sharp leaves, blackberries, dense undergrowth, vines and uneven ground. Dogs love all of this, but it could result in a poked nose or scrape if they decide to dive into the undergrowth (based on experience, they will.) It will be wet and muddy in the winter and spring. The trails have tripping hazards (stumps, vines, uneven ground) so wear good shoes and pay attention while you walk. All worth it if your dog is the type who loves an independent run and exploration in a forest! And you have the hose to rinse your happy dog off before heading home.

Extras

The Woods$9.0

Add 3 acres of fully fenced forest with winding trails. The Woods is wild forest. Trails are carved so you can explore as your pup gets in touch with their wild side. Your pup can easily be out of sight as he/she races ahead on the trails and through undergrowth. Don't worry, the 5 foot chain link keeps your pup safe. In late spring/early summer come prepared for mosquitos in the cooler times of morning. Long sleeves, spray, or book mid-day appointments if you have a very short haired dog.

We always have such a nice experience at our favorite sniffspot! Quiet, private, safe, clean & wonderful. And the woods are so worth it, running trails with pups is the best :)

Today we celebrated Bailey's 5th Gotcha Day!!! She had an amazing time and gets so excited when we get in the car and she even knows when we are getting close!

Great space! Loads of room for the doggies to run and play!

Still the best sniff spot around. Well maintained, great hosts, super secure and private. We love to play hide and seek by one of us hiding behind a tree, and while our dogs finds that person the other person hides. Love it.

This spot was wonderful. We have 3 dogs, two large and one very small, and this space was great for all three. One of our dogs is also reactive, and this spot was 100% great for him as there were no other animals visible or within ear shot. Very spacious, clean, and lovely area with water for the doggos as well. Pleasant for humans and dogs alike

INCREDIBLE. Enzo had a blast playing chuck it, exploring the woods and playing chuck it again. We even played hide and seek in the woods, which is his fav game! What a fabulous day. Can’t wait to return. Thanks for creating such a fun space.

We absolutely loved this spot! Our dog has generalized anxiety and reactivity, and we are working with a behaviorist who suggested Sniffspot as a tool for decompression. With the Woods add-on, our dog had a ton of well-maintained space to roam and decide where to go and what to do at his own pace. It's beautiful, peaceful, and spacious! The communication and signage was also excellent. We'll be back for sure!

Once again we had a great visit to this wonderful place. I will definitely be back with my four dogs!

I've had dogs of all shapes, sizes and personalities my whole life. I understand the plight of a pet parent who has a sensitive dog and can't do public spaces. My acreage was built to keep a 95lb husky/greyhound and a 20 pound terrier contained and safe. I'm lucky to have a great dog place, and I welcome you to enjoy this space with your dogs!

Hello and welcome to our Sniffspot! This is our first time being a Sniffspot host and we hope you enjoy your time here. It's a large, open one acre pasture with plenty of room to run and play. Tall fir trees, farmland and single family homes surround the property. Double gated entrance for security. Park along the fence on the gravel drive. Plenty of room for your pup to enjoy the zoomies! A few things below to note, thank you! * due to the burn ban, wildland fires and the dryness of our land, we ask for no smoking on the property at this time, thank you *please note: this pasture was used for a month (June 2023) by our goats & chickens and so the dirt in areas may be infused with the flavor of goat. While we have cleaned much of it, it can still be tasty to some dogs so wanted you to be aware * The terrain of the pasture does have some dips and there is a section of mown grass, as well as a portion of long pasture grass, and sticks from the fir trees. Wearing solid shoes will help you navigate the land. *There are three chickens on a neighboring fence line and the gate to their henhouse yard has a sign (don't let the chickens out, no matter what they say), as well as a secure gate latch plus bungee cord. They will stay on the far side of their yard, and hide under the shrub/tree cover so are usually not be visible from the Sniffspot pasture, but wanted to share in case this is bothersome to some pup guests. *We have added some strings of lights to our fence. It adds some brightness to the pasture for evening visitors. Thanks!
