Description

This is a 234acre forest with a babbling brook and access to a 350 acre pond. Wildlife and nature abounds. Treat yourself and your canine friends to a forest therapy session with access to about 50 of the acres.

HOST NOTE

You need a high clearance vehicle to access the property by vehicle. If you don’t have high clearance, the snow is too deep or there is a blown down tree park anywhere after my neighbors mill and walk in . See access instructions-do not block the rocky woods road.

Access to the Cabin and any helpful items like pfd´s, camp chairs, grilling utensils, compass, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, portable toilet (bucket with compostable liners and sawdust), firestarters, matches, first aid kit, emergency blanket and more. Please book this when making your reservation and I will provide access information.

Firewood and Firepits0 credits

You will need to gather this-some firewood may be available at either of the firepits-shore of Pond or near the Cabin. There is a dry tinder box at the Cabin-please replenish any use.

Bring your own equipment, Maine fishing license and experience the fishing on the Pond with your pooch.

Additional rules

If using the Cabin and portable toilet make sure to first fix a green compostable liner (provided) around the rim of the bucket (material will stretch around it), use the toilet and place the wood shavings in the liner after using the toilet, tie up the compostable bag and throw in the pit latrine next to the pallet. Cover the bag with wood chips if they are not frozen. There is hand sanitizer and paper towels in the Cabin. Return the portable toilet to the Cabin.

The yard at Cooperative Dogs is a beautiful, half-acre, fenced in area among the trees. It can be a great place for your pup to run and play and sniff in a safe, private atmosphere. Be aware that it is a new and developing yard, so as of now the ground is predominantly wood chips and there are stumps, trees, and other obstacles. Please be advised that Cooperative Dogs is not liable for injury to you or your dog. The fence is 5’ high welded wire construction with a chicken wire skirt, which is secure for most dogs but we cannot guarantee that your dog will not figure out a way to escape. There are currently no bathroom facilities. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT PLOW THE DRIVEWAY OR THE YARD THROUGHOUT THE WINTER. BOOK AND ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK.

The dog yard is split into 3 main zones with gates so you can explore while keeping your dog in sight. We have lots of space to explore, toys, and lots of other amenities! Our farm is set on 75 acres here in historic Litchfield with the original 1830 farmhouse and a big red barn. We have multiple areas for your to explore: 1. Our Play Yard welcome area that has a 3 sided shelter with seating. This is where you can grab some poop bags, toys, or request extras like agility equipment, kiddie pools, corn hole, BBQ grill etc. This area also lights up at night. 2. The Wilde Side with lots of paths to explore, a secret garden, native plants, hedges, multiple spots to sit, and a big open meadow. We are working making this area a monarch way station as well! 3. Our new area, Wolf Tree Meadow! Walk behind past the barn towards the hayfield and explore the stone compass circle. Rent the fire ring or use the table and chairs to relax while your dog sniffs to their heart’s content. Please note the entire SS accessible property is fenced. There is a driveway gate, and a second gate to enter our SniffSpot.
