25Hate doing this because I know what it means. But I also truly want to help others and hope if they’re in my situation, I would’ve appreciated reading this. Hope if you sort by lowest, my comment comes up so a new member understands. TLDR; the space is smaller than I thought, not very private aside for being fenced (aka wire fencing you will interact with others and dogs) and didn’t have the pool as the listing said. Also you’re facing the highway so it’s way loud, but maybe that’s what you want. Signage is hard and I already showed up 15 min late after driving far to get here with high hopes, you have to take route 20 and you have to go far before there’s a turn around if you miss the small sign for the distillery, don’t follow your GPS if new to the area. When I tried to ask the host if I missed something, they reached out at the end, said they’d just left and were shocked no pool was out. Then changed their answer to say they were getting a new pool and they’d let me come back for free whenever they set the pool out. The problem is there was no timeframe. When I simply suggested to update their listing to not include pool until they put it out, the host replied they’d say “summer available” with no months. I mentioned it’s June now and this entire week is above 80s and has been and I probably would have still misunderstood the listing by “summer” since every review and photo shows and talks about water. Long story: ahead of time, I reached out to the host saying it was my first time. I had a friend rave about the “distillery hidden gem”. I asked the host if I needed to know anything ahead and he said instructions were clear but if I had any questions to just message. I got here after the bad signage and the parking is tough because sharing with everyone at distillery, the gate is well marked but honestly, unless grass is what you want, you get a bigger space and still some grass with the public one. And it was completely empty. My dog is reactive and enjoys off leash and so I wake up at ungodly hours to take her off leash at places so it’s like private. The space is the size of a backyard house for palisch, unless you’re in an apartment, it’s not big or special. The water is super helpful but as mentioned, it wasn’t even set up. There was cheat grass in the back left. There was a nice shade. I’m just super confused as this was going to determine if I kept a membership. And I just wanted the credits back since he was willing to refund but he can’t do that. And I wish I tried somewhere else. I was told sniffspots were private and unique, like Airbnb backyards for dogs. But if you’re going to use Sniffspot, I guess I’d say go anywhere else that’s bigger and more private and offers the actual amenities it says unless the intention is to have your dog safely interact with others but from behind a fence. I saw so many other places with fountains and large farm areas and I wish I just held out, they weren’t available and this one was and that should’ve been my first clue they were booked out and this one wasn’t. Especially if you’re coming from Bend, I just think there’s probably a ton of closer and way better options so maybe don’t drive so far if you misunderstood like me. Book this if you want your dog to interact with others, maybe a puppy in training. And you want it to ignore triggers of the road and people or distractions. If you’re looking for peaceful, quiet, private, space, etc… either this is Sniffspot average or I’m missing something. I was super hyped up on this spot and the app in general. I’m overall disappointed in being dismissed on the amenity not promised and the effort to get there as it was the key to offer my dog on a hot day. The host seemed resistant to being clearer to members in the future. We talked at length prior to booking and at any time it would’ve been considerate to let me know the pool wasn’t out yet or to at least put in the listing “confirm with host before booking if pool is out” just like any hot spring in Oregon would say the same as courtesy before someone books a service with expectations.Victoria W.

Private use dog park located at Bendistillery home of Crater Lake Spirits and Ablis CBD. There is a public dog park that shares a fence with the Sniffspot park. There is an old chicken coop nearby but currently there are no chickens. Stop in our tasting room for a cocktail, you are welcome to take drinks into the dog park. There is a bathroom located in the tasting room.
