35This area is next to a dog kennel, dogs were barking for the entire hour we were there. Some dogs can see you and be seen in their outdoor areas. The field is covered in weeds that seem to have been chopped making them sharp/pointy.

55My 3 dogs had a great time. It was ALMOST too hot for them, thank goodness they had fresh water and a swimming pool. Which my 91lb doodle loved, lol.

35It was already getting pretty hot when we arrived. Toby seemed more concerned about the dogs barking and not being able to see them. Not much shade but the half + acre was fenced well and easy to walk on the flat bark covered ground. Nice to have the hose and pool for him to cool off and the chairs and table for me to sit down. First time there we may try it again. Like the fact it helps Brightside.
55Not a fancy or super exciting spot, but securely fenced and plenty of room to run (if you have dogs who dislike the heat less than ours, who mostly wanted to lie in the tiny area of shade). And it’s nice to support a good cause!
55My dogs love coming here! It’s very well fenced and they enjoy the toy selection, pool, and sprinkler!
55My dogs had an absolute blast! The space felt very private and secure, with plenty of room to run, play, and chase the ball. They especially loved cooling off in the pool and sprinkler between zoomies. I left with very happy, very tired pups. Highly recommend!

“This play yard is private, and no other dogs will be inside the fenced area during your visit. Shelter dogs are housed well away from this space. However, as we are an active animal care facility, you may see or hear other dogs at a distance: - Dog walkers may occasionally pass by outside the play area - This space is located near our animal receiving area, where members of the public may arrive with pets - All outside dogs are required to be leashed or remain in vehicles at all times, and direct interactions are not permitted. While the yard itself is separate and secure, dogs visiting should be comfortable with occasional sights and sounds of other dogs and people nearby. It's also important to always have your dog(s) leashed when entering and exiting the area, and to and from your vehicle.”

Description

We’re excited to have you and your pup(s) visit our space! Our Sniffspot is a fully fenced field tucked behind BrightSide Animal Center. We opened this space to give dog owners a safe space where your dog can run, sniff, explore, get some zoomies out, and just be a dog, privately unlike traditional dog parks that may not be a fit for all dogs! We have a few agility obstacles, a kiddie pool, and sprinklers for those pups who like to get a little wet. There’s plenty of room to roam around and do whatever makes your dog happy. Since we’re an animal shelter, you may hear some barking or very occasionally see a dog from a far while you’re here. Your visit helps support the animals at BrightSide. So your pup gets to have some fun, and you’re helping shelter pets at the same time. Win-win!

This is an outdoor, natural play space that includes wood chips, natural landscaping, and plants. This play yard is private, and no other dogs will be inside the fenced area during your visit. Shelter dogs are housed well away from this space.
