Description

Nestled on the rear of our 5 acre property, this private dog park features a serene country backdrop with views of barns, corn fields with cabins that you can use the porches to relax in rocking chairs and watch your furry friend(s) have fun. We have chickens and dogs on the property that will be isolated from guests via separate fencing but cannot be seen once you enter the sniff spot. We are always looking for ways to improve so if you have any suggestions please leave them inside the White Barn as you enter the property to park.

There is a slight drainage dip that channels rain runoff to the farmers field behind the property. It is highly visible but deserves to be mentioned. We have added a cross over bridge for safe crossing.

WE ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR EXPANSION. WE CANNOT WAIT TO GET BACK TO HAVING GUESTS AND PUPS VISIT💜 Hello, we are just beginning and have a lot of plans for updates to come. We have 2 dogs, Cottonelle and Bruno. They may be seen sometimes when traveling to the sniffspot area, but they're inside their own fenced in area and will not be a problem. The fully fenced sniffspot is at the back of the acreage, 1. You will drive through the black open gates and drive past the white barn. 2. Then drive through the second open gates and down the grassy path. 3. There is a sniffspot park here sign on the left outside of the sniffspot area to park. Please remember your furry friend(s) will need to be leashed until you are inside the sniffspot area. The sniffspot area is fully fenced and has a black closed gate that you will open to gain entry to the sniffspot. Once inside the sniffspot area and the black gate is closed, you will be able to unleash your pup(s), relax and enjoy the country scenery along with the quietness and peacefulness of the spot. Feel free to relax on one of the two cabin porches (no access to the inside of the cabins are permitted at this time) and use the well and dog bowl for your pup(s) when they get thirsty. The well is not intended for human consumption. We typically do not meet our guests but we are a phone call or text away (317-797-9095)! Last thing please pick up after your pup(s) as collection cans have been ordered for your convenience and there are poop bags on a fence post above the trashcan.

We have a 2 acre fenced pasture behind the house. The grass may be long, however, will be occasionally cut so shouldn’t be crazy. Your dog and shoes may get muddy after rainy days. Please plan ahead. The fenced area is entered on the right side of the property through swinging gates. Owners of small dogs may want to be careful near the gates as the openings are large enough for small dogs to get through.

Our property is a mix of 2 open pastures, and trails through the woods. There is a smaller totally fenced in area (former goat enclosure) that’s great for working on recall and scent work. We have 2 houses with yards at the address. Simply follow the driveway past the yards to the Spot behind. When you see the white barn, you’re there! Feel free to roam and play. Off leash is fine as long as your friend has good recall. Our dogs have their own fenced yards up at the houses. Our property borders a riding stable on one side, so you may see horses and riders. On the other side of the property is a shooting range (about a mile away) so if your pooch is gun shy be aware you could hear shots.

**Spring Update: Cellophane Bees: we have discovered a little colony of Cellophane bees in our agility field. These are NOT aggressive, not like yellowjackets and do not swarm. They are hugely beneficial native pollinators and we have decided to leave them be (har har). They are marked off with a fence, although my dogs had run right through them multiple times with no issues and i discovered them while standing on top of the area. They are very docile and only sting when grabbed. They will be here until about mid/late April** Enjoy a fully fenced spot (4 foot wire mesh livestock style fencing), run through mowed grass, tall natural meadow (we are “rewilding” a portion of our yard to native plants), two short wooded trails and access to a large pond with dock. Dogs are welcome to swim—bring towels and be prepared for some mud if it’s been raining or you have a pond monster doggy. Woods have wonderful smells, my dogs sometimes find delightful things to roll in. A hose is available for use on warm days. We do have chickens on site and ask you not allow your dog to harass them as you enter and leave (chickens are in a separate fenced area and in a coop/run). My dogs will be in the house—some barking may happen on your arrival but they will not be loose. Wildlife may be encountered (deer, squirrels, crawfish, muskrats, many birds and snapping turtles). **Note: I didn’t want to claim the site as accessible as it is grass and some uneven ground, but feel free to reach out if you need an accommodation to access the spot and we can discuss what is possible** We welcome all. This is not a good place for aggressive dogs for this reason, and because our neighbors have a dog (visible through the fence). Guests may park in the horseshoe circle drive in front of the house (please don't block the driveway to the garage) and let themselves into the back yard using the wrought iron gate next to the garage and trash cans.
