**Availability: we only book 2 weeks out so if you don’t see any openings check back 2 weeks out from your desired day.** Enjoy a fully fenced spot (4 foot wire mesh livestock style fencing), run through mowed grass, tall natural meadow (we are “rewilding” a portion of our yard to native plants), two short wooded trails and access to a large pond with dock. Dogs are welcome to swim—bring towels and be prepared for some mud if it’s been raining or you have a pond monster doggy. Woods have wonderful smells, my dogs sometimes find delightful things to roll in. A hose is available for use on warm days. We do have chickens on site and ask you not allow your dog to harass them as you enter and leave (chickens are in a separate fenced area and in a coop/run). My dogs will be in the house—some barking may happen on your arrival but they will not be loose. Wildlife may be encountered (deer, squirrels, crawfish, muskrats, many birds and snapping turtles). **Note: I didn’t want to claim the site as accessible as it is grass and some uneven ground, but feel free to reach out if you need an accommodation to access the spot and we can discuss what is possible** We welcome all. Nestled on the rear of our 5 acre property, this private dog park features a serene country backdrop with views of barns, corn fields with cabins that you can use the porches to relax in rocking chairs and watch your furry friend(s) have fun. We have chickens and dogs on the property that will be isolated from guests via separate fencing but cannot be seen once you enter the sniff spot. We understand that some dogs may be reactive or require a bit more space, and we are happy to accommodate their needs. Our location offers plenty of room for your dog to explore and play without the worry of unexpected encounters being in the yard. Our immediate neighbors on the southern property line now have dogs, and you may occasionally see or hear them during your visit but seems to be a rare instance that they come to the fence line. A kiddie pool is available in the summer, but I will need to be notified in advance on whether or not you would like it filled. Two humans per dog are allowed unless arrangements are made with me in advance. Please note that the yard may be wet or muddy after rain or snow. Additionally, mole holes might be present in some areas (providing extra sniffing opportunities!) 😜 Additionally, our spot is conveniently located right by the B&O Trail, making it easy for you to warm up or cool down your visit with a walk. This beautiful, park-like setting offers you and your dog mature trees, sun, cut grass, a picnic table, dog water bowl, chairs, poop bags, and a trash can. This is the backyard of our home, on the south side of Carmel. The driveway is narrow, so you are welcome to turn around (drive in the grass if needed) and pull back out - it’s hard to back out for sure. Please park to the far left of the garage in front of the trash cans. We have a mini goldendoodle who you may see in the windows. We also have two cats that may also be visible in the windows. The neighbors on both sides have small dogs that can be seen and heard sometimes. You will enter and exit through the gate between the house and garage. The pink bucket is for poop bags.
