55Always a great time! New agility challenges!
55Awesome place! Super clean and the dogs loved it!
55Maddy had the best time visiting Barkov Park for her Gotcha Day!!! She got lots of sniffs checking out all of the grassy areas and had a blast going into the water at a variety of different spots too. I did want to try the agility equipment but Maddy wasn’t in the mood for that. There were a couple of muddy spots, but that’s not surprising considering the rain we’ve had lately, and this was mentioned in the listing as well. The spot was very clean and I didn’t have to worry about Maddy eating anything she shouldn’t, and there was a trash can and some scoopers by the entrance as well. There was a construction site next to the spot, which was mentioned in the listing, but it didn’t bother Maddy at all other than every once in a while pausing at a noise. I could see a few houses but the way the fencing and landscaping was, Maddy couldn’t really see much and was only interested in looking at “her” car when she looked out the fence. We’ve visited a few Sniffspots before that haven’t worked out, ie. the chickens weren’t actually secured, or there were actually visible neighbors and their dogs. Jackie was super great communicating any potential issues, such as a snapping turtle which had appeared this morning, and describing how the chicken coop was situated and everything went really smoothly from my perspective as well! I did end up keeping Maddy on her long line, which was my plan, as she can jump really high if she’s really trying to go after something. However I didn’t see any spots where she could’ve broken through or anything like that — height was my only concern. We will definitely come back! I’m so glad to have found this spot — if you have a dog who is reactive to anyone and anything, this is definitely a spot to check out!
55Well maintained and beautiful spot
55It was just pleasant! Easy to occupy the hour.
55We always have a great time at this sniff spot! The dogs even dipped in the pond today!
55They have an amazing set up! I highly recommend and will be back for sure!!
55“Most wonderful place on Earth” - Gus and Chip My boys thought they were in hound dog heaven! We loved everything, from the agility equipment, to the wooded trails, to the pond, but the SNIFFS…those were the absolute best! The hounds enjoyed thoroughly sniffing and inspecting every single surface on the property. As city dwellers, we so appreciate these hosts for allowing us the opportunity to “hound dog” around. Already booked our next visit!
55The yard is perfectly maintained and has so much to do! Our dogs loved swimming in the pond and running laps around the property. Highly recommend.
55Very pretty property, very dog friendly. There's a forested area with paths and a huge pond with frogs, fish, and other interesting moving critters. There is a dock for dock diving and an agility area. The fence is sufficient for most dogs except for tiny sausage dogs like mine (he is 6lbs). He can fit through 4 inch wide holes. The host will be shoring up the holes for the future.

Description

Enjoy a fully fenced (mesh livestock style fencing, small enough to keep in little dogs) run through mowed grass, two short wooded trails and access to a large pond with dock. Dogs are welcome to swim—bring towels and be prepared for some mud if it’s been raining or you have a pond monster doggy. Woods have wonderful smells, my dogs sometimes find delightful things to roll in. A hose is available for use on warm days and there is a nearby Tractor Supply if your pup needs a spa treatment after their romp. We do have chickens on site and ask you not allow your dog to harass them as you enter and leave (chickens are in a separate fenced area and in a coop/run). My dogs will be in the house—some barking may happen on your arrival but they will not be loose. Wildlife may be encountered (deer, squirrels, crawfish, muskrats, many birds and snapping turtles). **Note: I didn’t want to claim the site as accessible as it is grass and some uneven ground, but feel free to reach out if you need an accommodation to access the spot and we can discuss what is possible** We welcome all. Host replied: Thank you! We’ll do our best to secure the deck area for our smallest guests but the truly tiny and determined may always be able to find a weakness. I’ve updated the listing based on your feedback.
