Location

Description

This is privately owned land in Chelsea and will allow you to take your dog for a run in a mowed area with sections of long grass and also for a run through the woods. The wooded area has a significant amount of wetland that the doggies love to get filthy in so bring towels if you expect your dogs to run in the woods. You may see deer and other wild animals on the property. We have just taken ownership of the property and will be continuing to maintain and update this spot, with plans to add a fenced run down the road. For now this is an awesome spot to take your pupper out in the wilds for a truly unique dog park experience. My puppers have a blast whenever we bring them out - and so does my 13 year old son. Please be careful on the wooded path as there are a lot of trip hazards in the form of dead trees and logs.

Cleanliness

93% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

There are some shallow holes on the mowed portion of the property that we will be filling and will update this listing when done. The wooded area has some wetland that your dogs will get wet and dirty in so be prepared if you plan to let them go into the woods.

My new favorite spot 🥰 we came last weekend and decided to book again for this weekend and had another great trip. This time we came prepared with a chuck it for the long field which our pup loved. After exploring through the woods again of course. Love love love.

We loved this SniffSpot! Love the mix between woods and the mowed patch as well. Gave our pups the perfect mix between exploring and sniffing and then a nice long patch to play fetch. We saw one deer for added enrichment.

Host replied: So glad you and your pups had a great time and enjoyed the variety available at our Sniffspot. Thank you for visiting and leaving a review!

Beautiful spot, dog enjoyed very much. Saw several deer and other critters.

Host replied: Thanks for leaving a review and thank you so much for visiting our Sniffspot!

Daisy had so much fun! She got the zoo miss through the woods, swam in the swamp, and sniffed around the cornfields.

Host replied: Thank you for visiting and for your review! I’m so glad Daisy enjoyed all there was to do - our dogs always enjoy “the swamp”as well. 😂

Amazing as always!! My dog found a deer leg and was very proud and paraded it around the whole time😅 extra enrichment I guess

Host replied: Thanks for your return visit to our spot! Cool that you’ve seen it in two different seasons now. Glad your dog enjoyed the experience!

Drove an hour for this sniff spot and unfortunately, we left after 15 minutes. Saw two live snakes, two carcasses (one deer and one small animal) and several animal bones. Due to the recent rains, the woods part of the property was pretty much not passable. I did not feel like my dog was safe on this property. Alerted property owner and she was very understanding and offered to refund visit. Property owner is closing calendar until she has a chance to evaluate the property. Not sure how often this property is maintained.

Host replied: Thanks for your input and we’re sorry that you had this experienced. Your refund was issued, you should have received that by now. We were there on Sunday to investigate your concerns and we didn’t see anything ourselves even after a complete review of the property, including the woods which were passable on the path. There’s about four acres of non-wooded area at the front of the property as well that is regularly maintained that might have been a better fit for your pup. Again we’re sorry you had this experience. On the one hand we are very clear on what to expect of our spot in the description and on the other hand I’m wondering if you ended at the wrong property because what you described doesn’t reflect what we saw this weekend. Either way, thanks for visiting and wish you and pup more happy Sniffspotting.

Nice big wooded area... will have lots of wildflowers in a month or so. Pretty mucky but that was not unexpected. Dog was filthy but blissful! Got a lot of energy out! Jack in the pulpits were just emerging.

Host replied: So glad your pup enjoyed! Thank you for visiting us.

Great spot if your dog(s) have solid recall, one of mine was briefly tempted by a passing herd of deer. This is such a great spot to explore for dogs and humans but I would definitely recommend a good pair of rubber boots.

Host replied: Great tips! Thanks for visiting our Sniffspot.

First timer, and it was the perfect spot for my boys to get in lots of sniffing and exploring! Lots of wildlife poo (and some bones) to keep things extra interesting. There were a lot of areas that were flooded/very wet (which is everywhere right now), but plenty of space to walk around those. Very quiet; we didn't see/hear any people/animals. Thank you!!

Host replied: Glad you enjoyed the visit! Hope you’ll come back and see us again soon.

It’s a good space and certainly has plenty for the dogs to do, but one of my dogs did get torn up by some barbed wire, and we were surprised by the deer stands and hunting blinds set up just off the trails. There is no fencing, and one neighbor’s yard is close to the trails. The pups also sniffed out a dead raccoon 😅

Host replied: Abbie - I’m very sorry to hear one of your pups was hurt. Where did they encounter barbed wire? We’re our there all the time with our dogs and have never seen barbed wire on our property. Also deer blind is from the old owners, we don’t have any hunting on our property.

🌳🌲Welcome to Wynshire Woods! 🌲🌳 We feel so blessed to call this property our home, and would love for others to experience the beautiful nature we get to enjoy each day. Wynshire Woods includes over a mile of trails, fallen trees to sniff, hills to climb, and ravines to explore. Our 49 acre property is nestled in the woods, 1/4 of a mile off of the road with parking near our metal barn at the bottom of our driveway. We have over a mile of beautiful trails through hills and trees, with a short and long trail option. The long trail is about a mile long and takes 40-60 minutes to walk. The short trail is closer to 1/3-1/2 miles and takes around 25 minutes to walk. Take a break at the top of the first hill and relax in the hammock, taking in the peaceful nature around you. This is a great spot to bring a snack or picnic! We hope your dog(s) enjoy all the sights, sounds and smells throughout the woods- we have wild turkey, deer, many small wild animals to see, and and have him/her/them go home tired, satisfied and happy. This is a completely unfenced property. We ask that all dogs are leashed or have a training collar for recall, as wildlife and farm animals are abundant on our property. Dogs MUST be safe with free range chickens and ducks i.e. NOT chase/hurt them. Part of the trail does go past our fenced goat area. We do have 4 dogs who are contained to an invisible fence which does not have access to the trails. As long as your dog does not come into their area, there will be no other dog interactions on our property.
