55Our girls had a great time playing in the woods and long grass. The wooded area can get a bit muddy, so boots aren't a terrible idea if there's been recent rain!Jessica H.

55Both of my dogs had a blast! The open field was perfect for them to run and play fetch, the wooded area was perfect for sniffing and walking.
My only criticism is.. a map or boundary would have been nice. veronica a.

55Such a beautiful area! We had a great time. I would definitely wear long pants and muck boots. A towel for the dogs would also be good. They loved that the grass in the field was long! Bree J.

55The path is just behind the blue shed (I was a little stressed thinking I didn’t see a path at first). As everyone says, it was a bit muddy in the woods but …it’s woods. The mowed hay field was great. The dirt road it is off of isn’t busy. There weren’t any distractions for my nervous dog, she had a great time and I’m excited to go back. Thanks!Erica Z.

55Our dog loved exploring the woods! Definitely heed the host’s advice about bringing a towel for your dog’s paws—parts of the woods are a bit muddy. We’re looking forward to coming back again soon!Erica K.

55This area is rural and wooded with a lot of interesting things to sniff, navigate and see. My three dogs loved it. Two were able to be off leash, which was more conducive to the spot, but the other one who had to remain on leash, still had a great time.
We will definitely return.
Be aware that yours dogs will likely have muddy paws at the very least, so be prepared. Next time we will have towels and extra water for cleaning up.L M.

55My new favorite spot 🥰 we came last weekend and decided to book again for this weekend and had another great trip. This time we came prepared with a chuck it for the long field which our pup loved. After exploring through the woods again of course. Love love love. Samantha G.

55We loved this SniffSpot! Love the mix between woods and the mowed patch as well. Gave our pups the perfect mix between exploring and sniffing and then a nice long patch to play fetch. We saw one deer for added enrichment. Samantha G.

55Nice big wooded area... will have lots of wildflowers in a month or so. Pretty mucky but that was not unexpected. Dog was filthy but blissful! Got a lot of energy out! Jack in the pulpits were just emerging. Anne F.

55Great spot if your dog(s) have solid recall, one of mine was briefly tempted by a passing herd of deer. This is such a great spot to explore for dogs and humans but I would definitely recommend a good pair of rubber boots.Lillian I.

FAQ About Chelsea Dog Parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 10% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Chelsea area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 372 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 682 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
