Description

Beautiful fenced tall-grass pasture with some woods at the lower end. 1.5 acres. If desired, you can drive right into the pasture and secure the gate behind you before letting your dog(s) loose. Whether you park before the gate or drive right through, you'll be parking on grass and it will be a little bumpy, but most vehicles shouldn't have a problem with it--my little car does fine. There is a mix of tall grass, shorter grass, and the lower "riparian"/woodsy area (mostly alder trees), which has a seasonal creek that runs in winter and is dry in summer. Your dog may find the scent of deer where they've bedded down at night, though it's unlikely that any will be present for your visit. You will see that I've planted and protected some fruit trees and native plants here and there. You'll find a table and chairs near the entrance with amenities--water, baggies, balls... You've got access to a corner of the nearby barn where you can sit in the shade (or shelter from rain) and use the ball launcher to send your dog(s) on missions out into the field. Down the slope and amongst the trees you'll find more chairs and water. There are two driveways onto the property. You want the north one with the sign "Ericksen." After driving up that driveway, you'll see a "sniffspot" sign on the gate into the pasture. Please do not enter the farmhouse yard. The residents of the farmhouse are not the sniffspot hosts. For any questions, issues, or suggestions about how I can improve this spot, please drop me a message or call me, Annika, at 253-346-5863. New: accepting donations for COMPOST, like leaves, lawn clippings, pumpkins, newspaper, fruit/veg peels, coffee grounds, annual plants including tomatoes, used potting soil, tree trimmings, etc. You can drop it off and I'll sort it out. You'll see the compost receptacle as you come up the driveway.

Cleanliness

We had a fantastic time. My dog loves the open space to run and all the things to sniff. We really appreciate the well appointed covered area with tons of fun toys. When the rain comes that will be a major perk. We will be back for sure. Thanks for sharing your space with my dog and I

A amazing Sniffspot! Perfect area to run free, safe, sunny and even a small covered area if it was rainy! Loved it🐾

Fully fenced beautiful park! Very quiet and peaceful! My pup was exhausted before the hour was even up! We will definitely be back!! Very clean and easy to find!

This spot was great for my pups to run off some pent up energy from the last couple days of rain. Easy to find and fully fenced in. We will definitely return!

We really enjoyed this sniff spot! Great place to walk around with our pup. She loved hopping around the tall grass. The host kindly provides many balls and toys as well!

This was an awesome spot. It was very private and secluded and the property was beautiful. My dogs loved running through the tall grass and sniffing the trees.

Fantastic spot! Dogs loved running all around the field in the tall grass. They have a nice variety of toys for you to use while there if you need them. Several buckets of water and a couple of seating spots. I brought my own but they also had poop bags available.

My dog had so much fun she knocked out in the car after visiting!; there so many spots and areas for her to sniff around and she had a lot of fun watching the chickens. She also loved pouncing through the grass and running around the wooded area! will definitely have to visit again!

Pretty sure doggie had a blast 'cause he has been zonked out next to me ever since we got back. Saw some deer, geese, and chickens. But nothing that he could engage...so all good. Plenty of drinking water for him in a couple of spots. Also nice having the trails cut through the tall grass so he could run full out. Thanks for opening up your property to us!

Hello and welcome to our Sniffspot! This is our first time being a Sniffspot host and we hope you enjoy your time here. It's a large, open one acre pasture with plenty of room to run and play. Tall fir trees, farmland and single family homes surround the property. Double gated entrance for security. Park along the fence on the gravel drive. Plenty of room for your pup to enjoy the zoomies! A few things below to note, thank you! * due to the burn ban, wildland fires and the dryness of our land, we ask for no smoking on the property at this time, thank you *please note: this pasture was used for a month (June 2023) by our goats & chickens and so the dirt in areas may be infused with the flavor of goat. While we have cleaned much of it, it can still be tasty to some dogs so wanted you to be aware * The terrain of the pasture does have some dips and there is a section of mown grass, as well as a portion of long pasture grass, and sticks from the fir trees. Wearing solid shoes will help you navigate the land. *There are three chickens on a neighboring fence line and the gate to their henhouse yard has a sign (don't let the chickens out, no matter what they say), as well as a secure gate latch plus bungee cord. They will stay on the far side of their yard, and hide under the shrub/tree cover so are usually not be visible from the Sniffspot pasture, but wanted to share in case this is bothersome to some pup guests. *We have added some strings of lights to our fence. It adds some brightness to the pasture for evening visitors. Thanks!
