Fenced tall-grass pasture+ In Gig Harbor
New: disinfecting wipes and spray to protect your dogs' health amidst news of a contagious illness. Each visitor can disinfect and refill the provided water bowl or bring their own.
Beautiful fenced tall-grass pasture with some woods at the lower end. 1.5 acres. If desired, you can drive right into the pasture and secure the gate behind you before letting your dog(s) loose. Whether you park before the gate or drive right through, you'll be parking on grass and it will be a little bumpy, but most vehicles shouldn't have a problem with it--my little car does fine.
There is a mix of tall grass, shorter grass, and the lower "riparian"/woodsy area (mostly alder trees), which has a seasonal creek that runs in winter and is dry in summer. Your dog may find the scent of deer where they've bedded down at night, though it's unlikely that any will be present for your visit. You will see that I've planted and protected some fruit trees and native plants here and there.
A sheltered area allows you to sit in the shade or out of the rain, and that's where you'll also find most amenities, such as toys and water.
There are two driveways onto the property. You want the north one with the sign "Ericksen." After driving up that driveway, you'll see a "sniffspot" sign on the gate into the pasture. Please do not enter the farmhouse yard. The residents of the farmhouse are not the sniffspot hosts. For any questions, issues, or suggestions about how I can improve this spot, please drop me a message or call me, Annika, at 253-346-5863.
New: accepting donations for COMPOST, like leaves, lawn clippings, pumpkins, newspaper, fruit/veg peels, coffee grounds, annual plants including tomatoes, used potting soil, tree trimmings, etc. You'll see the compost receptacle as you come up the driveway.
