Description

Hello and welcome to our Sniffspot! We are new to being a Sniffspot host and we hope you enjoy your time here. It's a large, open one acre pasture with plenty of room to run and play. Tall fir trees, farmland and single family homes surround the property. There are neighbors who walk their dogs or play with their dogs in their yards. There are no shared fence-lines but we are noting this in case your dog might be reactive or sensitive to seeing and hearing other dogs and people. Double gated entrance for security. Park along the fence on the gravel drive. Plenty of room for your pup to enjoy the zoomies! A few things below to note, thank you! *For the toys and water bowls, we have labeled bins for 'clean' and 'dirty/used'. Please utilize items from the clean containers and then place in used/dirty so we can thoroughly clean them. Thank you! * The terrain of the pasture does have some dips and there is a section of mown grass, as well as a portion of long pasture grass, and sticks from the fir trees. Wearing solid and/or waterproof shoes will help you navigate the land. *September 2023: we have added 4 sets of string lights to our fence and one spotlight on the far power pole (motion sensor). It adds some brightness to the pasture for evening visitors. Note that since it is an acre lot, there is a portion of the pasture that is still quite dark once the sun is fully set. *There are three chickens on a neighboring fence line and the gate to their henhouse yard has a sign (don't let the chickens out, no matter what they say), as well as a secure gate latch plus bungee cord. They will stay on the far side of their yard, and hide under the shrub/tree cover so are usually not be visible from the Sniffspot pasture, but wanted to share in case this is bothersome to some pup guests. Our rooster, as well as neighborhood roosters, are regularly heard. *please note: this pasture was used for a month (June 2023) by our goats & chickens and so the dirt in areas may be infused with the flavor of goat. While we have cleaned much of it, it can still be tasty to some dogs so wanted you to be aware * due to the burn ban, wildland fires and the dryness of our land, we ask for no smoking on the property at this time, thank you

This spot really focused on the health of the dog with clean and dirty bins for toys!

  • Athena J., Dec 3, 2023

Despite all the available toys and sticks, Virgil made his own fun and climbed up on to the table - he learned about small boxes and raised platforms at training 😂 . (We wiped the table down with the available towels!) It’s a great spot for training and sniffing. Thanks!!!

Host replied: Virgil is so cool. He cracks me up!

Awesome space and set up. Was nice that we can sit while the pup did her thing!

My dogs had lot of fun zigzagging over the field and sniffing in the trees. I liked that the host provides water dishes and toys that are cleaned between visitors.

Host replied: Thank you for visiting - beautiful pups!!

Nice open area to run, and plenty of trees for dogs to pee and sniff on. Loved that they provided chairs and there was also umbrellas just in case

Host replied: Thank you for visiting Vanessa!

Awesome spot! Well maintained & stocked with treats, toys, & plenty of cleaning supplies. I loved the additional bin to put used toys. Especially grateful for the extra precautions taken with this respiratory disease going around! Thanks for sharing your spot!

Host replied: Thank you Jaiya for visiting and for your feedback! We have set additional precautions and signage for separating clean & used toys and water dishes. Thank you!

The size of this spot is great. Lots of area to run around and plenty to sniff. My pups did surprisingly well with the chickens too! There was a neighbor nearby who had several dogs running around her front yard which set my pups off but it was a good training opportunity. There was a lot of other people and dogs around the perimeter in general so if your pup is reactive at all this may not be the spot for you.

Host replied: hello Amy, thank you for visiting with your pups. We have updated our site information based on your feedback. Thank you!

    Love the stick library!

Host replied: Thank you for visiting! Virgil is so awesome :-)

We had a great time at this sniff spot. I felt comfortable bringing my toddler and my dog and both were occupied the whole time. The owner has bins with lots of toys and anything you’d need while there. You can see the chickens but they didn’t come to the fence and my dog was unphased. We’ll visit again

Host replied: Thank you for visiting! We are so glad your dog and toddler enjoyed the space :-)
