55Carissa’s Sniffspot is a treat! We took our pup Beau and he loved exploring the field and trails. It was quite hot the day of our visit so we didn’t stay the full time and we didn’t make it to the brook as we got a bit confused and weren’t confident we were still on Carissa’s property. She does mention that she’s in the process of marking the trail which will make it even better. And I would also add, had we taken a screen shot of the map in her posting pictures that would have been helpful - neither myself or my husband had cell service up there so we weren’t able to pull it up on the property. We loved this spot and have already talked about coming back in the fall when the leaves start to change! Thanks Carissa!

55Such an awesome and beautiful experience. Carissa didn’t appear to be home but it was easy to find the open field and explore some of the forested area. I am not super educated about hunting laws, so I did keep blaze orange on my pups and kept them with-in my sight. It was fun running them through the agility equipment, too. I would def make a point to book again when in the area. The boys are still zonked.

Description

I have a 10 acre field (with some pretty nice views) + 60 acres of woods that I'd love to share. Right now the woods are in a pretty natural state (the trails aren't groomed & are in the process of being maintained) so depends on your adventure-ability whether you want to venture that way. There is a brook about 0.7 miles from the parking spot though! My dogs love it. But the field is great for getting a full sprint going or ball toss, etc. My dogs are visible from some areas of the field. If you would prefer not to see other dogs, please plan on walking the back woods with your dog(s). The field is fine to drive on - you'd pull in and drive along the left edge to the back where there is a gap in the rock walk and pick up the trails from there. Please do not park in the driveway - instead, pull off on the side of the road (please make sure you are fully off the road) on the grass or turn into the field a bit and park along the white fence

I've got an Aframe, 2 tunnels, several jumps, hoops and a dog walk (please note the dog walk is wooden & not rubberized just yet so some dogs aren't used to the surface). Feel free to move stuff around and make your own course. Please note - this field isn't graded yet so best for slower speed (jogging speed) training and not full sprint

Mini Canicross Lesson$35

I'll fit your pup in a harness, let you borrow a canicross belt & leash and run around the field with you a few times, letting your pup chase mine! We can also hook up your pup with mine so they can learn from a more experienced dog + I'll give you tips on how to continue progress & suggestions on where to buy equipment, etc

Booking Policies
Only one booking is allowed at a time at any spot and there is an enforced 30 min buffer between all bookings to ensure dogs in separate bookings do not meet.
This spot is set for Booking, which means you will be instantly confirmed for any booking you request. You will receive the address and access instruction immediately following booking.
Visits can be moved or cancelled up to 2 hours before a visit.
Visits can be extended and dogs can be added throughout the visit.

    Carissa’s Sniffspot is a treat! We took our pup Beau and he loved exploring the field and trails. Welcome to our farm! We have 75 acres here in historic Litchfield with the original 1830 farmhouse and a big red barn. Bring your doggos to run and play off-leash in our fenced dog play yard! We may be closing the meadow on various days to do spring clean up and build some fun new things for the dogs and you! We do have two areas. A smaller area with shelter and taller fencing that is lit up at night. It can be used during the daytime as well. We created a second “location” because people were unaware of the night-time option. Please note the entire property is fenced and there is are two metal gates that you’ll need to open and close to enter the property and then the dog acreage. To access the fenced acre walk around the front of brick part of the house along the road and look for the metal gate. You can secure the gate with the chain and enjoy your visit!
