Port Ludlow, Washington

A .63 acre dog sanctuary for you and your pup. The yard is well maintained with dog friendly grass and has incredible views of the Hood Canal and Puget Sound. If you're interested, there is private beach access for you and your pup to explore miles of beach (public but almost always empty). There is a tetherball on site and numerous other dog toys available as well. Regarding the beach, there are approximately 50 steps which you will need to climb up and down to access the beach so please wear proper footwear. As this is on the Hood Canal and not a lake or a pond, tides impact the size of the beach. If you are hoping to walk endless miles of beach, the tide will need to be at 2ft or below. Anything under 4ft will give you a massive area (probably 1/2 mile or more) and almost guaranteed private area as only people with stairs can access the beach at this tide level. Though the beach is open at any point, I think the maximum height you would probably want to go is about 6.5ft. This still gives you and your dog a decent sized area to play in (approximately 500ft by 30ft or 1/2 acre). Photo 16 shows a shot of the beach at 6.25ft with a very large sandy area for you and your pup to play in. Anything above 6.5 ft is not recommended as the beach just gets thinner and thinner, but you're able to try if you want. (no refunds given if you don't like what you find). You are also responsible for checking out the tides before you go. Legally, I can't recommend any specific source for you to use, but you might find good information Googling "tide chart port ludlow". Regarding ADA Accessibility, my property is on a gently sloping hill. To access it, there are 2 very wide concrete steps to get to the grass. This would be doable for somene on crutches and probably ok for a regular wheelchair if you had a second person to help lower you to each step and pull you up. It's definitely not accessible to a motorized wheelchair. Sorry.

Loved our visit to this clean, sunny spot. Owner communicated quickly and was extraordinarily accommodating to our last-minute request. Tide was high so we didn’t get to explore the beach, eager to do so next time.

Host replied: Thank you for kind review. It was very nice of you to not ding me for the messes in the yard. With the holiday, I didn't get a chance to pick it up before leaving and there were a lot more piles out there than I care to admit. It's normally in much better shape and will be next time you come back!

This new Port Ludlow spot is fantastic!. As Livie is new to our family, and we are learning about her, we wanted to find a space that she could safely play offleash and explore. The moment she walked in to Sean's fenced backyard-- she never looked back- Complete joy! She got to play, chase, and explore in a completely fun, secure enviroment. Sean, the host is fantastic and so welcoming. We will be back! Thanks for sharing your amazing space with us.

Host replied: Lori, you and Livie are welcome any time. Thanks for being paw-some visitors!

Host replied: Thank you. I'm glad you and Monkey had such a great time exploring! I could see some porpoises in the water up from the house, not sure if you could see them from beach level though. Maybe when you come back! :)
