55Fantastic spot! Loved all the trails, the creek running through—our dog had a blast.
55Fun spot. Well marked with lots of places to explore. The pups were very happy!!
55Excellent spot! As others said not a TON of room to run free but it was still fun for my Tony even in the rain! Easy to find, nice amenities, great price and the BEST part is how helpful and responsive Lancelot is! He is an all star host!
55Great Sniffspot and helpful host! Our pup had so much fun zooming around in the forest and well-maintained grounds. Only concern was the main road that he kept wanting to venture towards. Would be perfect if there was some additional fencing but otherwise it was a fun visit!
45This is a very unique spot with cool features. That said, unless I parked in the wrong place, the parking area and some of the trails and features seem closer than 100 ft from the road to me, and it it is a busier road than I expected. I needed to keep 3 of my 4 dogs on leash much of the time because a lot of the trails were closer to the road than I felt was safe to have them off leash. But if your dog has really reliable recall this is a great spot. The playground and log bridge were really cool features!
55What a magical spot! The pups had a great time running up and down the hills, over the log bridge and skating on the icy pond. In addition, they loved being able to sniff all of the many new smells. Was happy that rain/mud boots were recommended as it was very wet and muddy with all the recent rain. The dogs, of course think the muddier the better. Safe to say, my pups have found their new favorite spot!
55Great space!
55Fun forest
55The forest, little trails, and playground equipment was fun for my dogs. The road felt closer to the property than I expected, but there was still plenty of space to play far from the road.
55Cute spot! Love the fact it has portapotties for the humans and the dogs loved smelling around the woods, will be back I’m sure.

Description

Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot is a large mystical woodland adventure for dogs in Redmond on the way to Carnation. Boots are recommended in the winter rain. MMF is preferred by puppies, dogs, people, adults and kids alike because it has potable water, power, picnic tables, chairs, several firepits, lit portapotties, 3 swing sets, 3 slides, monkey bars, 3 Forts, a log bridge to cross over Little Ames Creek for when the creek is flowing, a doggy playground, lots of picturesque moss, lighted parking lot, woodchip trails and many footpaths over 5 forested moss covered acres. Parking is near the road, separated by 100 ft of woods, so we suggest that all our doggy friends be leashed until they are on the trails with you. The parking area can only be located where it is to protect the ecology of Little Ames Creek. Please leash your dog until into the forest away from the parking area, after that Bob's Your Uncle! Watch kids and dogs in the parking area near the road, and at Ames Creek. A secluded place to dork out and have fun, enjoying a natural Pacific rainforest. Note that the creek is dry in midsummer until the fall and winter rains kick in. Boots are recommended in the fall and winter. Find a map of the main trails in a photo on our MMF Sniffspot site. There are lots of foot trails through the understory ferns. The log bridge can be used to cross Ames Creek, or you can ford it to discover the rest of Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot. Please pack out doggy bags with you because there is no garbage pickup here, please leave no trace. If there is a downpour and you want to wait it out there is a dry shed in the parking area. Access to power helps keep your batteries charged. Please carry your toilet paper (sorry it walks away). The portapotties are cleaned once a week. Please visit our Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61555379018442 Let us know if you have any questions. Synchronized play bowing to you!

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

Separated by bushes and trees, the road is 100 ft from the parking lot, so we recommend leashing your dog until you are on the trails, or doggo becomes used to the location, and heads for the secluded forest trails right away. There is a log bridge to cross the creek when it may get as much as 6 inches deep in the winter. A great off-leash park full of fun exploring please wear boots!

Host replied: We love seeing the photos of your little one racing around having fun - thank you so much!!! As far as the acreage - we are opening up some new trails but being sensitive to maintaining the natural conditions. Expect to see new trails soon. I'm sure you noticed we cover the trails, everything possible in wood chips to reduce erosion. And Ah shucks you didn't have to say THAT. -Lancelot

Host replied: Hi James, We very much appreciate your 5 Star review! Regarding the fencing, or gates appreciate the suggestion - its just a question of expense. Things like gates, fencing, it's on the list. -Lance

Host replied: LOL Nicole - That is the coolest photo - they look like they are the teachers in the playground keeping tabs on the kids! I love it! Thank you for clarifying distance from the road thing. We are planning more improvements for fun! -Lancelot

I was born in Washington State. We have dogs, and we thought we'd offer our property to explore a new place with all kinds of wonderful things that dogs love. We installed a playset that has a ramp and stairs that dogs hop right up to hang out in and get pets and maybe a little treat! We also have a small creek running through the forest, that is usually shallow and slow moving - the perfect size for dogs. Right after a big rain it can get up to a foot deep. We have found dogs just love the log bridge and will run back and forth on it. There's lots of chairs, fire pits, picnic tables. If you get caught out in the rain we supplied a shelter that is dry so you can wait it out. We update our Sniffspot as much as possible. For example, we just laid down fresh wood chips this week. Enjoy!
